Reputation gain/loss on residential lots[edit source]

Contrary to the article, Sims can in fact gain and lose reputation on residential lots. I have the Ultimate Collection. I've recently played with the Mole family in Desiderata Valley. Like many pre-Belladonna Cove families, they all start with Average Cabbage, but John Mole has earned himself a place as Amicable Acquaintance. I've never played Desiderata Valley before, and I've never taken John Mole to a community lot. I also have no mod installed in my Sims 2 game. I swear - no kidding - that Sims can actually gain reputations on residential lots. I must say that John Mole also has had a dream date with a blind date (a Desiderata Valley firefighter, Jordan Hamilton). 71.79.234.132 (talk) 03:17, December 15, 2014 (UTC)

This thread discusses the issue further. There are people that can gain/lose reputation outside residential lots, while there are people that can't. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 03:20, December 15, 2014 (UTC)
I vote that this is a disputable claim. I think it's therefore reasonable to add that Reputation can be gained or lost on residential lots without mods. But such a claim must have an asterisk, noting that some people don't have this feature. It has been done before - on the gardening page. The gardening page, IIRC, says that Sims can grow eggplants with a gold badge, but some report Sims can grow eggplants with silver badge. I'll agree with the latter claim, because there was one time when my Sim only had the silver badge and could still grow eggplants on his property. 71.79.234.132 (talk) 04:46, December 15, 2014 (UTC)
That is still very strange, and you're right about it being disputable, even though I myself am 100% sure that you can't gain reputation in residential lots. Long before I played with mods, I didn't play with mods at all, and AL was my first EP. There are still some things that are quite unclear though. It's impossible if a Sim gains reputation higher than Average Cabbage if you've never played Desiderata Valley before. Before you played the Mole family, have you ever played any other families? And if you have, have you ever sent these families to the community lot? If you have, then there was a chance that John appeared on the community lot and built his reputation there—as an uncontrollable Sim. Nikel Talk Vote! 13:18, December 15, 2014 (UTC)
The Mole family was the first family I played. I never sent them to a community lot. And I checked at that reputation at the beginning of the game session with that family. --71.79.234.132 (talk) 02:27, December 23, 2014 (UTC)
