This article seemed more like it was about someone's interpretation of Ripp then the actual character that came with the game. I disagree with the interpretation of Ripp as a hippy, and there is very little absolute evidence in game that his "relationship got worse with Tank after his mother died" (paraphrasing)- their relationship might have always been a poor one. So I edited out most of the interpretation and left the facts behind, such as Ripp having high nice points. I think the "hippy" interpretation information would be better in 'Player Stories.' 19:18, December 19, 2009 (UTC)

Genetics[edit source]

I checked his Sim DNA, and noticed that his hair genes are (dominant)brown/(recessive)blond -- but that's with FreeTime as the latest EP and all EPs patched. I get the impression that one of the earlier EPs or its patch made changes to the Strangetown genetics, but I'm not sure which one, or if that was one of the things that was changed. I checked a copy of the original Strangetown template, and he has (dominant)brown/(recessive)blond hair genetics there as well. Dharden (talk) 16:27, January 15, 2014 (UTC)
I don't understand the DNAs of Strangetown Sims. They seem to be either inconsistent or incomplete or such. There was a research thread at MATY, but it didn't cover the details like what DNA certain Sims carry. Nikel Talk Vote! 14:30, January 20, 2014 (UTC)
Just checked Ripp Grunt in my original template of Strangetown. He has (dominant) brown / (recessive) blond hair genetics as well. Nikel Talk Vote! 13:21, January 25, 2014 (UTC)
I've just checked it myself and Ripp does infact have dominant genetics for brown hair and recessive genetics for blonde hair. I wasn't the person who originally wrote that Ripp's dominant genetics were for blonde hair. But for some reason the game may sometimes treat the recessive genetics like they are dominant and vice versa. The same thing has been known to happen with Hal Capp. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 23:06, February 5, 2014 (UTC)
Considering that Ripp and Hal's respective alleles for blonde and red hair are recessive, they are quite dominant. Normally recessive genetics for red/blonde hair have almost no chance at being inherited over dominant genetics for black/brown hair. This is true to all second generation CAS Sims in any case. If a Sim had dominant genetics for brown hair and recessive for black or dominant genetics for red hair and recessive for blonde hair, there is a higher chance that the descendants may inherit the recessive genetics. In general recessive blonde and red hair genetics will always lose to dominant black and brown hair genetics. So if there is a considerable chance that Ripp's children may inherit his genetics for blonde hair and Hal's children may inherit his genetics for red hair; it means that their recessive genetics are very dominant in comparison to the recessive alleles of most Sims. Of course, there is still a higher chance that Ripp and Hal's children will inherit their respective brown and black hair. (Hal has brown hair but his dominant genetics are for black hair). It could also be that some genetics are incomplete. In that case, I think anything else will be used to fill in the empty genetics. Nikel Talk Vote! 05:30, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

Yes, but if certain expansion packs are installed (maybe any one of these expansion packs) the game will recognize the genetics of those whose genetics were previously unrecognized. From what I've seen, all Sims' hair genetics are recognized when viewing their original templates with few exceptions. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 06:00, February 27, 2014 (UTC)

Adult Ripp image[edit source]

Is it okay to add the image of adult Ripp? It's apparently non-canon, and he might appear differently in other people's games. Nikel Talk Vote! 17:21, April 11, 2014 (UTC)

If you're talking about the base game, then probably not. C.Syde (talk | contribs) 05:29, May 10, 2014 (UTC)
