Not the best warning...[edit source]

In The Sims 1, I got a warning for military school RIGHT BEFORE the kid got send to military school. Is this just a glitch or something? PepterPepper 02:30, March 28, 2010 (UTC)

Opportunities[edit source]

It is not specified which game the opportunities can be found in. The section lies below The Sims 3 school section, so is to be assumed that this is the game in which opportunities appear? If anyone could clarify this for me that would be great. Thank you! TheGirlWhoLived 21:16, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

Child/Teen sick on school day[edit source]

What if you Child/Teen got sick on school day? because all of 3 teens got sick by pemonaide or something (I'm not good at spelling because i am german). I try to call on phone but there is no option for stay at home from work/school.

Please Relpy me

Teens and Children don't get day off (In The Sims 2. I don't know about The Sims 3, but it might be similar) even if they're sick. Teens, however, can have a day off from work by spending their vacation days. So, they still have to go to school even if they're sick. Nikel Talk 03:35, February 6, 2012 (UTC)
In The Sims 2: Seasons, a teen/child sim has the day of school if it's heavily snowing outside. Bakerychaz (talk page · blog) 07:18, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
In Sims 3, if they just don't get on, they might be scolded, but they also might get a pop-up saying "Thank you for being considerate & leaving your sick child home today" ICecreAm waS heRe 23:00, October 24, 2013 (UTC)

A small problem..[edit source]

Hey! Um, this has nothing to with the subject of School but with the Appaloosa Plains infobox, the image of the school won't show up in it at all. Any suggestions on how we could fix this? Or should we just re-create the infoxbox and find a new image of the school? HanaGoth96 (talk) 17:12, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

I'm no expert on this, but I have this funny idea that it has to do with the first infobox under the "The Sims 3" heading. It has the same name, image, etc. as the one above, and it might be conflicting. I really have no idea on this subject at all, this was just a random thought I had! ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 19:57, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
Hmm, this is genuinely going to bug me. I'm going to try and fix this - I'll check out the first infobox and see if I can move some things around and what not... HanaGoth96 (talk) 20:09, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
Fixed. Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 21:01, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
Great, thanks Auror :3. HanaGoth96 (talk) 21:06, March 27, 2013 (UTC)
I didn't understand why Appaloosa Plains school infobox failed to work properly either, but sometimes the best way to fix it is to rewrite the infobox again (not copy-paste it). Nikel Talk Vote! 15:26, March 29, 2013 (UTC)

Report Card Glitch[edit source]

For some reason in my game, having the aging on/off cheat set to off can prevent some Sims from getting any better grades than C+. Most of the pre-made playable Teen Sims and some of the pre-made Child Sims that had good grades to start with weren't affected by this glitch in my game. But most of my CAS Sims, the pre-made Townie Sims (that I made playable), and some of the pre-made playable child Sims haven't been able to get any better grades than C+. Occasionally one of these Sims gets a B+ though this is quite rare and when that happens, their grades do not progress any further. I know some players might say, if this glitch affects school report cards then it affects Sims' job performances. But I've seen no evidence those statements are true. Players on other sites have claimed to have experienced the same glitch that I have, and that having aging set to on can stop this glitch. But due to the circumstances of my gameplay style, I'm not about to turn the sands of time back on. In the end I had to use SimPE to give my Sims the grades I knew they deserved. Why school is more challenging in TS4[edit source]

I feel like TS4 really improved the way school works. The main improvement for me was making grade improvement much more challenging. In short, getting a better grade in school is now exactly like getting a promotion in an adult career. If you are a C student with high performance, than that merely means you are doing well for a C student. In order to move up to a B student, the Sim must now complete all the prerequisite tasks in order to be "promoted" to a B student. For children, that means getting 2 or their childhood skills up to level 4, and attending school energized once. For children to be promoted to A students, they must do extra credit twice (which is unlocked for B students once they complete their normal homework) and get all 4 of their childhood skills to level 4.
