The point[edit source]

What's the point of the skill careers, what do you get from it that you wouldn't normally get by not being self employed? | Duskey | 22:16, June 14, 2010 (UTC)

I think the point of having a skill career is so that artist sims for example have a career which they can complete wishes with and keep track of the amount of money they're earning. 86.171.238.4 17:29, October 27, 2010 (UTC)

I've made a much more detailed article called Self-Employment, now we should just merge the two and get it over with. Pin Collector talkblog©® 09:51, March 8, 2011 (UTC)

In the "Payment" section, it says sims get a weekly payment. I know that that's true for professions, like the Stylist and Firefighter, but is that really true for skill careers? I don't remember ever being paid any more than what I got for my own work.

No, you don't. Your salary is what you sell/earn in your own time, it isn't a profession. Writers do get weekly royalties though. Tigerlili79 21:51, April 11, 2012 (UTC)
