Beauty and the Beast[edit source]
I was just wondering could this family be based on Beauty and the Beast? It has the same basic storyline, Sarah is the Beauty and the Doctor is the Beast. Chunkyheels (talk ) 14:27, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
- Someone said they're based on Nightmare before Christmas. Jack Limb is Jack Skellington, Sarah Holden is Sally, and Roderick Synapse is Doctor Finklestein. I don't know much about the movie though. I only heard someone say that. Nikel Talk – Vote! 16:11, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
- I have seen it and it does have a lot of similarities for instance, Jack and Sally are in love and Sally lives with Dr Finklestein not through choice and also considering the dark theme of the neighbourhood it is likely :) Chunkyheels (talk ) 20:03, October 1, 2013 (UTC)
- Unless Jack Limb is a skeleton (which, shockingly, he isn't) and Sarah Holden is a doll (again, no) and Roderick Synapse is a creepy duck thing in a wheelchair, this has nothing to do with the Nightmare Before Christmas. More likely they are based on the stereotypical silent film; evil doctor/professor kidnaps the hero's girlfriend and ties her to some train tracks and sets up dynamite nearby to trap the hero or something
- Sarah wears a dress which is stitched together, has a pale round face and long straight hair, just like Sally. Doctor Finklestein has a bald head and round glasses just like Roderick Synapse and he wears all white as well. There are also little containers in Sarah's basement like the ones that Sally has for frogspawn ect in her basement.
