To-do List for Showtime

Wikians who bought the pack, I'm begging you to please help contribute everything you can. Use SimVIP's Showtime Game Guide for reference or for information (but try not to copy the whole thing from there, try to rephrase it).

Things needed:

• SimFest (new page needed)

*Genie

• Starlight Shores (three new community lots, linking articles to articles, families and Sims)
• Careers: Acrobat, Magician and Singer
• Trait: Natural Born Performer

*Lifetime wishes and lifetime happiness rewards

• Objects from Showtime
• Gigs
• Big Show Performance (new page needed)
• Simport

Any other things needed to be added or updated, add/update in the list. If done, do not delete it and use <s>*'''Example'''</s>.

Linux?

From this link, I found out that Linux is included at the platform. Does that mean Showtime is releasing for Linux users? But yet, The Sims 3 do not include Linux. Is there a mishap? Please clarify. Thanks. ThomasWikia 04:50, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

It is a complete mislap, and it only got the Windows OS correctly. The Sims 3 only runs smoothly on Snow Leopard, since it has issues with Lion and Leopard is just vintage, it never supported tiger. And the term "Linux" is way too general. But then again, let's wait and see. 18:29, December 9, 2011 (UTC)

That's a mistake on Amazon's part. There's no way EA would start supporting Linux in the middle of The Sims 3's life. Half of the DVD is the Windows version and the other half is the Mac version, that and Origin is Windows exclusive. New Death : By Magic?

I read the source where the editor got it from but it doesn't really explain much about the death and if its really called "Death by Magic". We don't really know a lot of detail about the death and how it occurs right? 119.224.27.62 (talk) 08:22, January 8, 2012 (UTC)

From the newest press release, "Beware the Box of Danger! If a Sim fails at correctly executing their tricks with this object, death may come calling". This is the box we see in the trailer, the one the magician sticks the sword though. Thus, if that trick goes wrong, the Sim inside of the box will die.--The Black Scorpion 08:36, January 8, 2012 (UTC)

So its more like death by Failed Trick than death by Magic, because its not really magic killing the Sim, the "Magic" skill of the performer will likely determine whether or not this trick will succed or fail. But if failing that trick ALWAYS results in the death of the assistant, I believe that the death rate from this trick will be extremely high if there is'nt some way to Practice with a Dummy. Or if the required skill level to succesfuly perform this trick is'nt to high -- Mr. Hamming 00:23, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

The Return of Genie?

From the screenshot I saw, it looks like Genie will be back in this game as a returning life state for real! And it looks as if it's playable! Is it true? Nikel _Talk 12:06, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

Those are two of many screenshots uploaded to the Exchange by secondary accounts of a few participants of the Showtime Beta. They are real and yes the Genie is the creature. Due to the embargo, I can not give any info about the Genie. We'll have to wait until after the live chat on Thursday.--The Black Scorpion 12:26, January 23, 2012 (UTC)

According to the live chat, nothing is explained about genies yet. Graham knows that a lot of The Sims 3 community knows that there's a genie as a life-state. Probably you have to wait.

Is it fine if I post four different types of editions in a new article? The four are: standard edition, limited edition, bundled edition and collector's edition. All the box arts goes at the bottom of the topic. So, can I?

Well, EA has offer these kind of stuff so that their customers can sell one of these, thus getting lots of cash.

It could be better if EA can just show what are their future packs (showing themes) and make them. The customers will create hype and chooses what they want. And EA should hold a suggestion live chat, the customers will tell what suggestions they want in the packs.

That's my opinions.

Starlight Shores?

I noticed the new town is going to be called Starlight Shores,and I found a possible picture of it. Is this true?Most say that it's just made to look fitting,but not the actual town.Dailingping11 11:42, February 5, 2012 (UTC)

Release countdown colors

Can we really hire Magicians?

Sorry if I someone has already asked this question, but I just want to ask about this statement: "You can hire DJs, magicians, singers, and acrobats from the “call for services” menu. You can also hire a Sing-a-gram from the phone, to deliver a message to someone special."

Can we really hire NPC Magicians ? I haven't bought the game yet but I'm curios if the NPC magicians are finally being used in the game because I've heard that before this EP was released they were just left-over scraps that had no use/function in the game.

Yeah I think that's what he/she meant. They're like Firefighters . You can call NPCs to help you out with the fire or you can turn your own Sim into one so that you can control one yourself. So I guess the Magician (NPC) article needs to be updated.

Yes you can consider them as NPCs but when you hire them they are completely random Sims, so they aren't really like Firefighters since you don't really know who you hire. Starmoonie(Talk Here) 23:40, June 1, 2012 (UTC)

Kind of, most are usually generated by the game so you may have a chance of seeing them in the neighborhood, but most likely not until you hire them. Starmoonie(Talk Here) 00:17, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Showtime

Does anyone else dislike Showtime? I dislike it. I'm not the person who is obsessed with celebrities and magazines, I prefer History and Science. It's my opinion, but I think Showtime isn't very good. Bakerychaz 13:07, June 23, 2012 (UTC)
