Tay Bayless is a pre-made child Sim of the Bayless family, living in the swampy outskirts of Twinbrook, the world introduced in The Sims 3: Ambitions. Tay, like the rest of his family, is depicted as an avid, outdoorsy individual, and is portrayed as a poor student that dislikes school.

At the start of the game, he is at level 1 in the fishing skill, and carries a baseball and a book in his inventory. He is friends with all members of his family and gets well along with them, but he has no friends his age.

Tay, like all of the Bayless family, has the traits Angler, Family-Oriented, and Loves the Outdoors. His hairstyle is only available if the cheat "unlockoutfits on" is activated before accessing Create-A-Sim or through a stylist's makeover. When Twinbrook is first played, Tay is 6 days from becoming a teenager.
