Countdown Test[edit source]

Copied from: User talk:LostInRiverview/Archive 1#Countdown Test

Example date: September 15, 2010, 12:34 pm (UTC)

With the introduction of Daylight Saving time (or 'Summer Time'), matters are complicated as times in participating areas are an hour ahead of 'standard time'. So, where the Eastern time zone is typically 5 hours behind UTC (if it's 5:00 pm at Greenwich, it's only Noon in New York), during Daylight Saving (early March to early November), this is an hour shorter (4 hours behind)

For North American users, I will be testing all 6 United States time zones, as well as the Canadian 'Atlantic Time Zone' during the period of daylight saving time - September 15th. To complicate matters, the state of Hawaii, which is an hour behind Alaska during standard time, is at the same time as Alaska during daylight saving, since Hawaii doesn't follow the practice. Therefore, the zones being tested are:

UTC -3 -- Atlantic Daylight Time (ADT)

UTC -4 -- Eastern Daylight Time (EDT)

UTC -5 -- Central Daylight Time (CDT)

UTC -6 -- Mountain Daylight Time (MDT)

UTC -7 -- Pacific Daylight Time (PDT)

UTC -8 -- Alaska Daylight Time (AKDT)

UTC -9 -- Hawaii Aleutian Standard Time (HAST)

UTC-0 -- Coordinated Universal Time (Greenwich time) (UTC)

UTC+1 -- Central European Time (CET) / UTC+2 -- Central European Summer Time (CEST)

Took the liberty of adding CET, it's my timezone and the only one I know. This should probably be moved, copied or linked to on the template talk page. Duskey(talk)(blog) 17:12, July 14, 2010 (UTC)

Expiration[edit source]

I've been messing around with the javascript in order to add a 'Time expired' instead of it counting up and I think I pulled it off. Check it out:

Countdown
{{Countdown
|time = July 22 2011 00:00:00 AM
|zone = UTC
}}

Expired
{{Countdown
|time = July 18 2010 00:00:00 AM
|zone = UTC
}}

I'm still seeing "T-plus." Did you only edit your javascript? -- Patrick (LostInRiverview) (talk)(blog)(random page) 16:16, July 20, 2010 (UTC)
Both of them show time expired for me atm. I edited the global JS file. Duskey(talk) 21:29, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
Belay that, I hadn't changed the actualy code to 2011, only the example :p Duskey(talk) 21:34, July 24, 2010 (UTC)
