Incorrect Neighborhood tagging[edit source]

I think there is something wrong with this template. On Fanon pages, whenever "Moonlight Falls" is entered in the neighbor section, it is tagged as Fanon:Moonlight Falls on the actual page. I don't know what is causing it, because I'm not good at template coding, and don't want to even try editing it in case I mess it up. WayfinderOwl (talk) 20:10, September 2, 2014 (UTC)

The template that should be edited is {{Sim}}, which is sysop-protected. I have no idea how to fix it either. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 20:26, September 2, 2014 (UTC)
As K6ka mentioned, the issue lies in {{Sim}}. The template is functioning as written, and it would be difficult to make it work in the exact way that you're attempting. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 20:33, September 2, 2014 (UTC)
Normally authors would refer the Sim to belong to their own fanon-made neighborhoods if not EA-made. You can't make the template choose whether to link or not. It is by design, and it's either link or not link at all. Although to be honest, an author shouldn't normally create a fanon called Moonlight Falls because the world already exists, and if he wanted to create a fan fiction of it, it should've been called something else. That doesn't mean it's not possible to name a fanon after that though. Nikel Talk Vote! 11:30, September 3, 2014 (UTC)
Even though the problem is with the other template, is there a way to fix it? Because quite a lot of sims that link to that fanon won't have anything to do with it. I have tried putting this [[Moonlight Falls]] in the neighbor section, but it ends up looking like this Moonlight Falls [[Category:Moonlight Falls Sims (fanon)]]. WayfinderOwl (talk) 06:28, September 5, 2014 (UTC)
It can't. The template cannot know if you want to link a neighborhood or not, so it's done automatically. People are used to automatic linking in neighbor parameter, so if it's changed to manual linking, all Sim fanons are affected. A simpler way is to rename the fanon. But seeing that it's left unfinished for a long time, it won't be long to get deleted... Nikel Talk Vote! 06:46, September 5, 2014 (UTC)

Gender Preference[edit source]

I think a a line should be added in regarding Gender Preference at the start of the game. If you have the PC version and Mastter Controller you can easily find out who has 'Gender Preference' > Male, Female, Undecided (sometimes they can fall into both Male and Femal gender preferences) for the whole town. I could even help with this task as long as somebody with the proper authority decided this should be done. Gowihasti (talk) 06:18, November 8, 2016 (UTC)
