Adding American Sign Language[edit source]

I'm not sure if there is a certain process for this to be completed, but I would like to have a userbox that refers to American Sign Language. The ISO 639-3 code is ASE, which isn't in ISO 639-1. Does it have to be ISO 639-1? - Icemandeaf (talk) 06:11, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

ASE-1 This user speaks American Sign Language at a basic level.

As you can see, I've added American Sign Language to the list. If you think the phrase "This person speaks..." should be changed, we can try to figure out how to do that. Otherwise, it should be good to go, as far as I can tell. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 06:27, August 30, 2014 (UTC)

Ooh, how juicy! I know that on Wikipedia, their userbox will say something like "This user can communicate at a basic level of American Sign Language". Probably works better to say it that way. - Icemandeaf (talk) 06:56, August 30, 2014 (UTC)
Does it say communicate for all languages, or just signed languages? -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 07:29, August 30, 2014 (UTC)
Just sign languages. For other languages, it says "This user can contribute at a(n) <level> level in <language>." But if it makes it easier, I don't see why you can't use it for all languages. So it would say something like "This user can communicate in Spanish at a basic level" for example. - Icemandeaf (talk) 14:09, August 30, 2014 (UTC)
