Nomination[edit source]

I, LostInRiverview would like to nominate Beds (talk · contribs · editcount · block · modify rights · logs · block log) (previously known as HanaGoth96) for administratorship on The Sims Wiki. Despite opposing her prior RfA, I fully support her receiving administrative rights at this time; I can expand upon this reasoning if/when Beds accepts the nomination. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 20:39, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Thank you LiR for nominating me. I would like to accept this nomination and if accepted as an admin, I would like to work on the two admin projects; Layout & Navigation and Image & File Maintenance. Again, thank you for nominating me LiR. Beds (parlare) (da leggere) 20:59, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Discussion[edit source]

For those of you who remember Beds' previous RfA, you'll know I did not support her application. It came down to a matter of trust, and concern about incidents that had occurred. The request was not approved, though the decision was close and there was a bit of controversy involved, which ultimately resulted in the restructuring of requests on TSW.

There are several reasons why my opinion of Beds has changed. The aftermath of her first request was full of confusion and disagreement, but she rose above it and accepted the result, even though it may have been unfair. And instead of letting the denial affect her performance on the wiki, she continued to make good contributions, continued to be engaged and continued to be a very strong wiki watchdog, reversing quite a bit of vandalism. So while I was not trusting of her when she put her first RfA in, I am now - her behavior since the first application has proven that she has the skills and temperament necessary to be an administrator. I fully support her being promoted. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 21:15, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

As we seem to be down a few admins at the moment, I think it would be beneficial to promote more of them and I agree with the nomination for a reason.

I'll admit I was impressed by the way that Beds/Hana handled the previous RfA - it's a situation where it's easy to become infuriated. To back this up, Hana also kept her cool, as far as I'm aware, during a recent case of a user trolling/harassing various users in Chat and I do believe that was one of the things that did influence some of the opposition to her prior RfA, so it's clear there's improvement here and that goes without stating her efficiency as an editor.

So all-in-all I think Hana/Beds would benefit from the sysop tools and I see no reason to doubt her judgement. Good luck! :) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 21:30, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

I as well believe that Beds handled her prior RfA being denied very well. I also commend her for continuing to make great edits and being an active member of the community. However, as the RfA was denied recently, I'm unsure on whether or not this is too early for me to completely support her. I had my reasons for denying the prior RfA, which still stand as that nomination was not that long ago. However, I wouldn't be opposed to Beds becoming an administrator. I'm just not sure if enough time has passed for my viewpoint to change. --Bleeh(talk) (blog) 23:04, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

I can see where your coming from with the time thing. It has been 1 month since the last RfA and while that may not seem like that long ago, I'd say it's a fairly reasonable amount of time. Sometimes when it comes to judging things like this, it's best to look at what's happened since then and it can be a case of taking a leap of faith and entrusting Hana to keep doing the right thing, which I'm sure she'll do. I'd say she's done good the past month with regards to everything brought up in the previous RfA and I think she's capable of keeping that up. Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 19:44, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

I had said before that I would support Hana (well Beds now) when she was again nominated for Adminship. I will keep my promise. I think that she is worthy. She's gone above and beyond to make herself a better community member. I think that Beds dealt with her previous RfA declination well, even correcting herself after the fact in the voting for that RfA. Hana has always been nice to me and her work on the wiki is good. I totally agree that Hana should get administrator rights. She's learned from her mistakes and these mistakes are in the past. If she can show the good side then I think that Hana would make a great admin. As I am sure I've stated before - just ignore them. If they say something bad. Just report it and It will be dealt with. I definetly think that Hana should get admin rights as she is really helpful if people want to know something about the wiki which is a good quality for an admin and she is always improving and reverting vandalism or unhelpful edits so I think she would be a great admin. Chunkyheels (talk ) 19:37, June 18, 2013 (UTC)

I think Hana would be a maaaaarvelous admin! I am sure she would be great at it! Me!-Bwahaha! 21:30, June 20, 2013 (UTC)Hurshbr

Reasoning (for argument's sake)? Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 21:40, June 20, 2013 (UTC)
Hana has been here for a while, never (as far as I know) vandalized, trolled, been blocked, or negatively used her editing tools. I am sure she wouldn't abuse the mighty admin powers. She wasn't allowed to be an admin before, and took it well. She is a great member of the wiki community. Me!-Bwahaha! 21:48, June 20, 2013 (UTC)Hurshbr

In the previous admin request from Hana, I supported her strongly for the role, which I still do for the same reasons and more. The fact that Hana's editing history is still excellent to date impresses me, but it doesn't stand out compared to the fact of how well she accepted the decline of her previous application. I personally feel that having a request with a divided consensus, whilst being declined would be harder to take than for the user to have a full house in terms of opposition votes. The fact that Hana accepted this so well does show that her maturity in certain situations has improved immensely.

Now, some of the reasoning opposing Hana was due to her recent outbursts against a couple of users. Her behaviour since then has greatly improved, which shows that, without a doubt, that she has an appropriate state of mind to deal with situations requiring a clear head, compared to when she last requested this role.

As I've said before, in my previous comment of support, that her contribution history was excellent. It still is.

To summarise, Hana's impact on the wiki has been enormous, and I feel she is ready to take on this role. I know she knows what she's doing, and I have complete faith in her ability to keep calm at all times. AsherÉire 'Sup? 15:54, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

I agree with her being admin, I think she's a great user and therefore I think she would be an excellent admin, too. Nicolás (Discusión) 20:55, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

I'd have no problems with Beds being an admin, I think the wiki would benefit quite a bit, she's very friendly and most new users look to an admin for advice so she'd be perfect. Deskita

I agree with basically everything everyone has said above. Hana is an excellent editor (she's waaaay past my edit count and I've been here over a year), she is extremely active, always contributing to community discussions and never faltering when it comes to being friendly and just having a chat. Some silly mistakes and a bit of bad behaviour in the past has merely hindered what I believe was going to be inevitable - Hana becoming an admin. She sounds like - and I believe - that she really wants to become an admin (sorry Hana if I'm wrong :P) and I hope she does get it because I believe she would be a very valuable asset to the administrative team! ~ Waikikamukow (Anyone wanna chat?) 23:58, June 21, 2013 (UTC)

Resolution[edit source]

After five days, a consensus in favor of promotion appears to exist. Therefore, Beds will be immediately promoted to Administrator. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 21:02, June 22, 2013 (UTC)
