Nomination[edit source]

I, Auror Andrachome, would like to nominate Joey.eyeball (talk · contribs · editcount · block · modify rights · logs · block log) for administratorship.

Joseph's first RfA was declined mainly due to the "Not Yet" clause. Well that request was roughly five months ago and I feel that Joey is ready to receive the rights. Joey is online regularly, doing wiki-gnome work throughout the wiki. He has constantly participated in community discussions and is fairly well-rounded in his contributions. Thank you very much for the nomination, and I do accept. I will understand if others still do not think I'm ready to become an administrator yet but I won't ever abuse this privilege. Hope everyone agrees. Joey.eyeball (talk) 07:04, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Discussion[edit source]

Please leave any discussion comments or questions below. This period of discussion will last for at least five days. Time remaining: .

Support: I had a number of concerns and criticisms the last time Joseph was up for administratorship. I think I may have judged too harshly the first time around (it's a trait I have that I'm trying to combat). But that aside, Joey has improved as an editor and a member of the community since that time, and I feel he is more than ready and capable of stepping into this role. -- LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 08:01, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Joseph, you are a very good editor and you never act in bad faith, but I feel that you still have a few more things to learn first.

Should your RfA be declined, I think you should consider making more complex edits such as creating more templates, providing invaluable / valuable information to stubs, as well as creating Sim articles that have not been created already (if any).

I'm not trying to criticize and I don't tend to judge people based on what they haven't proven. But I still think you should consider what I've suggested above, then I will be more than happy to support you next time round. While I am not necessarily opposing this nomination, I'll be honest that I'm not supporting it.

(I must confess that I was a little too quick to support your previous RfA). Overall I am neutral to this nomination. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:18, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

You don't need to create a template to become an administrator, or to make complex edits either. You have to show understanding towards how the wiki works, make edits that you think will be best for the wiki, partake in community discussions which involves the future of the wiki, and on top of all of that, you also need to use the rollback tool which was given to you, out of trust and commitment. Joseph, I believe you have completed these tasks during your time here, and I feel you are ready to become an administrator. You have proven you can use tools properly, and can easily edit a page. The edits may be minor, but you can work on that in the future. I was hesitant during your first request, but I believe you have proven wrong and are quite capable of becoming an administrator. I support you fully, and wish you luck. Beds (talk - blog) 10:18, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Indeed, I am aware that you don't necessarily need to make complex edits or create templates. Those were just some tips that I stand by. You have certainly proven wrong and I wish you luck.

I'm changing my view from 'neutral' to 'weak support'. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:53, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Support. Ever since the last RFA, I've felt Joseph has really gained more experienced and has certainly worked hard to improve the wiki to the best of his abilities. And, especially with the semi-retirement of our beloved Lost Labyrinth, and with the arrival of The Sims 4 in just a month, a call for new admins to replace older, retiring ones is much needed. And don't forget, if you need help, you can always ask us. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 12:19, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

I must say that I haven't had the chance to really get to know Joey that well. Apparently his internet connection was weak when I became more active. So I have been digging into history. (Gotta love wiki for that aspect.)

The main concern I saw from his last RfA was that some felt he might be too quick to act before thinking. Not a horrible thing per sé, but can get one into trouble especially as an admin. I didn't see any evidence of that in his contributions since, so I have to assumed lesson learned.

Then there was a minor concern of varying types of edits. I can say from experience that those edits don't have to be complex, but just a toe dipped into the pool as it were. I don't see this as a concern that would weaken a request if it were not present, just something that would make it stronger.

So I don't see any real reason not to give support to this request. I wish you the best of luck, Joey, and hope to get to know you a little better. I agree with k6ka, don't be afraid to ask for help. I know I have done that on several occasions myself. Icemandeaf (talk) 14:00, August 2, 2014 (UTC)

Joey has been contributing this Wiki for quite a while for now, and I'm proud of his commitment. He has been a great contributor in this Wiki, helped many times with the contents even if most of the time they're minor, and partaken several community activities around. I'm sure he's been around for long enough that most users here have recognized him.

I'm still uncertain with some things, however. I'm not quite convinced if Joey has understood the some inside works of the wiki other than what appears on the surface (like mainspace and discussions that affect changes to the articles), such as procedures of blocking, when to and not to block, policy & guidelines stuff, managing featured contents, special pages, etc.. Well, I'm very sure that while being a regular user Joey has had very little chance to partake or consider these, and I believe that he will learn these things along the way little by little. But I just haven't been convinced if Joey would handle these since I haven't seen him touch those parts yet. I currently give him a weak support, leaning towards neutral.

Nonetheless, I'm proud of his commitment. I do wish good luck to Joey for his RfA! Nikel Talk Vote! 08:40, August 3, 2014 (UTC)

I must say I'd have to agree with Nikel23 on that one, but I still feel that Joseph could put the admin tools to good use. Even if I was hesitant to support this RfA and I still only give him moderate support.

But come to think of it, most of us editors have a lot to learn, and we've all learned a lot in the past months and possibly years. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:27, August 3, 2014 (UTC)

Resolution[edit source]

While support for this nomination was not always strong, and was sometimes expressed with reservations, no opposition was expressed after 5 days. Therefore, I judge that consensus in favor has been reached, and Joey.eyeball will be promoted. Dharden (talk) 11:42, August 7, 2014 (UTC)
