Welcome to The Sims Wiki's Second Logo Contest! The purpose of this contest is to determine whether the community wishes to change our current logo and, if so, what the new logo should be.

Voting Rules[edit source]

  • You can only vote for a logo once.
  • You may vote for as many logos as you wish
  • Sign your comments and votes. Unsigned votes will not be counted.
  • Avoid hurtful comments regarding logos ("I don't like it, it's ugly!").
  • Normal Wiki rules apply.
  • You may vote to keep our current logo.

Entry Rules[edit source]

  • You can enter as many times as you wish.
  • Your logo should be:
  1. Original
  2. Creative
  3. Attractive and Official
  4. Wiki Related (This Wiki)
  • Your logo must contain "The Sims Wiki"
  • You must upload at least one version of your logo that is 250x65 pixels, as this is the official size of the wiki wordmark.
  • Any white 'gaps' in your logo should be made transparent so the logo doesn't have a white box.
  • Logos must be uploaded in .png format - Wikia theme will only accept .png files as logos.
  • Please do not vote for your own submissions.

  1. I like the logo as it is. The only thing I would want to do is maybe change the font of the text, but I don't necessarily thing we should get a brand new logo. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 15:54, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

I like that, but is there any way you can upload a version where the background is transparent? -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 18:09, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

I have PAINT.net, but I don't know how to use transparency with it. I'll look into it. --Norman Average 18:13, December 8, 2010 (UTC)
Done it. --Norman Average 18:19, December 8, 2010 (UTC)

From a quick observation, I have noticed that the image isn't transparant. What editing software do you use? GEORGIEGIBBONS talk contributions 19:34, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

I use paint. I think I found the problem. I'm going to check. BobNewbie talkblog 19:41, December 9, 2010 (UTC)
From what I understand, paint can't produce transparent images. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 21:07, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

The green text is hard to read at 250px width because the words appear to run together. Dharden (talk) 22:38, December 9, 2010 (UTC)

Fron looking at the Wikipedia article, Paint does not support transparancy in GIF or PNG files (it is known as "alpha channel" in PNG). I suggest using GIMP, which is basically a free version of Photoshop and it supports transparancy/alpha channel in PNG files. GEORGIEGIBBONS talk contributions 16:24, December 10, 2010 (UTC)
