Country userboxes are a great way of letting people know where you're from. To include one on your userpage, simply add it like you would with a normal userbox. You need to check if a userbox for your country already exists; if not, you can create it.

How to create a country userbox[edit source]

If you are certain that a userbox for your country has not been made yet, follow these steps:

1. Find the flag of your country

Search Wikimedia Commons for your flag. A typical search query would by 'File:Flag of -YOUR COUNTRY-' When you find the flag it will probably be in .SVG format, this is a good thing. Be sure to 'Save Link As...' and NOT 'Save Image As...' since we want the .SVG file. Upload it to The Sims Wiki, remember to add licensing information. Most flags are in the Public Domain (PD). See Help:Add images for help.

2. Create a new template

Replace '???' with the name of your country (eg. spain or england). Remember to include a space between 'Userbox' and your country.

3. Copy the following text to the new template page and edit accordingly
<includeonly></includeonly><noinclude></noinclude>

These lines are the ones we're focusing on: id, info, info-c, info-fc, border-c.

Code Explanation Example
id Image link
info Displayed text This user is Spanish.
info-c Background color white
info-fc Font color blue
border-c Border color black

SVG files are usually very big, so we need to scale it down by adding width to the image. Most flags are good around 80-100px depending on their ratio. Short flags like the american flag need 100px while most european flags are good at 80px.

Basic colors can be in simple text format (blue, orange, white), for more advanced coloring you need to use hex colors. See Help:Colors for help.

At the bottom of the text, you will see the 'includeonly' line:

<includeonly></includeonly><noinclude></noinclude>

Here you need to replace 'COUNTRY' with your country, eg. Spain, in two places.

4. You're done

Click 'Save page' and test it on your userpage. If it doesn't work, try editing it and find the error. If it all goes wrong, contact an active administrator on his or her talk page.
