Image attribution[edit source]
In my opinion we should find a way to disable this. I'm relatively certain we can do that with some CSS code. To me it just seems like a disguised "FIRST!!!!!!!11" post and we already have so many edit wars and pointless edits over box art. Duskey(talk) 10:21, August 26, 2010 (UTC)
- Agreed. Besides, so many images have to be renamed because they're uploaded with generic names that image attribution would be less than useful even if it were desirable. Dharden (talk) 04:35, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
Widths[edit source]
I was out and about this afternoon, and was in a library branch that had new computers with good widescreen monitors. I didn't have my login, but took a look to see how the wiki looks on a fairly wide display. (I don't know what the resolution was, but judging from how wide a full-screen display was, I think it was quite high.) As nice as a dynamic display is on my old CRT, I can see where it can be an issue in a very wide window, as the text gets too stretched out, and the infobox gets pushed very far to the right. I don't know if this would be possible with the "new, improved" Oasis skin, but the ideal would be to have a breakpoint, maybe somewhere around 1200px. If the window is narrower than that, use dynamic display, otherwise, use a fixed width. Dharden (talk) 04:56, September 2, 2010 (UTC)
- I'm afraid that's not up to us. From what I can gather from some early beta testers in the #wikia IRC channel, the width is fixed across all pages. What the width is exactly may change during testing. Also note that any beta tester revealing information may be subject to blocks and other nasty stuff, so we're not likely to know until the testing is complete. Skin Appearance[edit source]
