Demetrios Pydnaios
Biography
"Although not deemed a complete failure, his fall from very probable success had turned him into an example used by the advocates of interventionist social engineering, although he has given quite a good account of himself despite his relatively low school grades."
Demetrios Pydnaios, born June 15, 1999, is the adopted son of Hypatia, and hence a member of the Union of the Insane. Demetrios however is not exactly a Union material, since he isn't about skills as he is about work. However, Hypatia and others see his traits as acceptable, since Demetrios may grow up to be a worker too obsessed with work and wages to be distracted by the great heresy of romance. Demetrios has a great start thanks to his early education with the Union members full of Logic masters, having 5 points in logic, 5 point in Invention, 4 points in Writing and 5 points in Painting, 4 points in Athletic skill, 4 points in Guitar, 4 points in Handiness, and 2 points in Martial Arts. He is of blood type O.
He also possesses his imaginary friend Eunike Pydnaia, who was turned into a real sim due to the ready availability of the Metamorphium due to the academic nature of the household.
With that being said, his education put him at great advantage, leaving him with an respectable array of skill for a sim so young. Kallisto however decided that the risk of heresy posed by the need for the core members to host public entertainment was too great: so Kallisto sent him and Eunike away to another Chapel-Barrack, assigning Epaphroditos as Lochagos. For Demetrios, Epaphroditos was great choice since Epaphroditos mastered both Logic and Guitar, allowing him to learn from Epaphroditos while using the ever to plentiful easel in the house to practice art and fulfill his lifetime wish.
With the split of the Church of Alexandros, Demetrios as a part of the Youth, went along with the Hekatonschoinos chapter members and dwell in the Initiate household there, although Demetrios has wishes to return to his stepmother back in Sunset Valley, now that space is no longer an issue there.

As a part of the Church, Demetrios gave a visit to the main Hekatonschoinos Chapter, fishing there with Eunike, while Epaphroditos the Lochagos also paid a visit to dance it up.
Demetrios' status has similarities and differences to the three disciples Chrysanthema, Pyrrha, and Esomena. Demetrios like the disciples were tutored in skills and learning skill was prioritized just like the disciples, and similarly Demetrios like the disciples were adopted by the primary tutor. Unlike the later disciples, though, Demetrios was adopted to be raised just like a son, where the three disciples were raised to be successors to the core members rather than to be raised as daughters for its own sake. Similarly, the leash on Demetrios was much looser, where Demetrios learning the guitar over other skills was not frowned upon by Hypatia, as compared to the disciples where they were not given musical instruments to begin with until they could master a few skills, which was rather inconsiderate to Esomena who was a virtuoso.
Kallisto was well aware of the general condition of the Initiate household, and how Kallisto had squelched Hypatia by sending them away so that Kallisto could consolidate power. However, with the creation of Hekatonschoinos, room no longer became a relevant factor, and as a token of goodwill towards Hypatia, Demetrios alongside Lochagos Epaphroditos and his imaginary friend Eunike were sent back to Sunset Valley to meet with their maternal figure.
However, Demetrios's slipping performance was soon noted and cited by the core members as a failure of laissez-faire social system, and Lochagos Epaphroditos was charged with inability to maintain progress among the Initiates, and the Initiates were reabsorbed into the Sunset Valley Chapter, knowing that Eunike was in grave risk of being a defect (not that even the Church could probably pull the grade up, since Eunike only had 2 days left). Demetrios likewise was censured as well, and was given explicit ban on attending any parties save for those hosted by the Church factions. However, Demetrios eventually graduated as a C student, hardly to be celebrated by any of the Church members, but despite that Demetrios was spared the embarrassment that was pretty much guaranteed with Eunike, and gained the Vehicle Enthusiast Trait, that was considered better than say... Evil or some other relatively negative traits such as Mean-Spirited.
Although this was to be expected, Epaphroditos' band grew marginalized by the Sunset Valley Chapter, and by the times of the Supernatural Revolution, the attentions of the Big 6 including Demetrios's stepmother Hypatia grew fainter to the point where they were pretty much out of the picture. Sure, Epaphroditos still had some uses left to the Ecclesiarchy, but Eunike and Demetrios functioned primarily as symbols of failures of laissez-faire familial policies. This didn't bother Eunike or Demetrios much, however given the stable financial status they were in. Hypatia might not be fawning over the stepson and his imaginary friend, but at least the Big 6 isn't coming to get them off their backs, so they thought.
But Hypatia started to yearn for personal successes, as most of the successes of the Ecclesiarchy were largely attributed to or were undertaken by Kallisto and/or Kallistrata. Hence Hypatia looked towards her children, and thought that they needed improvement. Hence Hypatia had ideas to have them be in charge of the provisional government of the newly acquired Sunlit Tides, although that thought was not executed yet.
Oblivious to this, Demetrios et al. lived as usual...
Demetrios shares 2 traits with Thessalonike Thalamaia: Friendly and Disciplined.
Despite the fact that Demetrios was adopted and Sam Sekemoto not in the household, Sam Sekemoto is registered as Demetrios' father.
He and his imaginary friend Eunike are the only two members that are of the Positive signs (Air and Fire considered positive, Water and Earth considered negative)
