Life States

It is open to debate whether raccoon and deer should be considered "life states". Traditionally that has included NPCs as well, such as the unplayable genie or the pack leader.

I've started a conversation on the template page, which I've reverted. The precedent as it stands is that NPCs can also be life states. If we're going to remove Raccoon and Deer, we also need to remove most of the others.

Clean - Up Suggestions?

I'm cleaning up my fanons and they are rancid with spelling errors. I fixed most of them and expanded on sentences. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep up with them? My fingers move to fast and I make many errors but I have been correcting those :P What do you suggest? I find the fanon standards very vauge, can you help?

Blocking users

Hey Wiryawan. A user approached me with concerns that you are too quick in blocking users. This anonymous user was blocked for "Inserting false information". The issue here is that the user wasn't even warned for their actions. Personally, I would have warned them for the second offense as it's possible that it may have been somewhat of a good faith edit (family can be best friends too) but they shouldn't have re-inserted that information and that's where the warning should have come in.

I'm not having a go at you because of this but I would like to ask if you could be a little bit more relaxed when it comes to taking action against some users. This blog is a pretty useful guide on warnings/blocks and you are welcome to refer to this at any time. If you need any help, feel free to ask me any questions. Hidden Trait Discoveries

I'm not sure how or why all of a sudden a bunch of Sims have their hidden traits discovered. 10!? That's too many! I doubt there's any Sim who will have that many hidden traits somehow. Are you sure? Check out the current Jessica Talon. But I suggest you not add vampire as a hidden trait. It's not considered as existent trait, thus making Jessica Talon to be in Sims with non-existent trait category. Nikel _Talk 16:11, February 24, 2012 (UTC)

Adding Vampire as a hidden trait isn't necessary, because we already know what's their life state. If you have a SimBot, you wouldn't mention again that his hidden trait is SimBot, right? That's what I think. I really have to sleep now. If you think the trait Jessica Talon is unnecessary like I just said, remove it and revert my edit here. Regarding Fanon Cleanup

Personally, this was the reason why I preferred to put my starting articles on the userpage. However, your prime concern is to track the fanon in question, right? I support the idea of simply adding the cleanup category without explicitly adding the cleanup tags on fanons that are clearly not going to be neglected (such as those of AsherÉire, who I believe will work on the fanons), because in my opinion the the cleanup tag is sort of a mark of shame, especially to an author who is actually diligent. I took that into account (the abandoning of fanon after a few days). Hence I brought up the idea of adding a cleanup category without actually adding a cleanup template: Hence marking the fanon (particularly those that are promising enough) without putting that big sign that might be a deterrent to some newbies. Okay, I added the Generations ghost because although it is temporary, it is possible to make it permanent. I added that, "If enough ghost potions are used during pregnancy, the baby will also appear grey with cloudy skin, but still without sparkles, but now permanent." {C}They do have a tombstone, but once they return to the netherworld, the tombstone says old age ghost and the ghost potion ghost becomes an old age ghost, but up until that point it is basically a ghost type of its own. I would take a picture of my ghosts grave but it would be pointless since it says old age on it. Blocking a user

Hey Wir. I saw that you blocked this user for blanking this page - I took a look at their block and their edit, and I have two things to say. First, I don't think it was severe enough to earn them a ban, as they could have easily accidentally deleted the content of that page. Secondly, I don't think, even if they deserved the block, that they needed to be limited from posting on their talk pages. I've noticed that in most blocks you give you prevent them from editing their own talk pages, but my understanding is that they should be allowed to edit their talk pages unless they demonstrate a reason not to allow it. I'm not going to revert your block, but I would suggest in the future that you maybe give users a little bit more of the benefit of the doubt and maybe issue warnings instead of blocks, and that you allow blocked users to edit their talk pages unless they are long-term blocks or were blocked for profanity. Hello Wir!

Just to let you know, I have been working extremely hard on my fanon page since the cleanup tag popped up. This came up because I had to leave and forgot to add an under-construction tag when I published it. This resulted in the cleanup tag. When it comes to writing, I am a perfectionist- I need punctuation, spelling and grammar to be correct. This is my only page with the tag and I have greatly improved it since.

I was wondering, if you have the time, if you could please have a look to see if it meets the fanon standards? I would be very grateful if you could. I enjoying writing and contributing to the Wiki.

My current game version is 1.31.118. All those numbers were taken by hoovering the mouse over the icons of the various expansions displayed at the bottom left of the game launcher. How's that wrong??? When it says "patch", that just means the game version, it doesn't matter if there is an actual patch for it released by itself or if the patch was only included with the installation of a new expansion. That table is just meant to list all the various game versions. Up to patch 22 everything is filled up on the table, I was attempting at filling the empty fields. Do you know that since patch 22 ea not creating a new patch for all expansion pack anymore? after patch 22, ea only made 1 superpatch and that is for the sims 3 only so all game version displayed at the bottom left of the game launcher is the old version of the patch or the version when the game released (for generations and after or if you not patching your game at all). The table purpose is for recoding patch/game updates released by ea and newly released game expansion/stuff pack version.

You are saying what it is, not why it is relevant. If an expansion's version number is relevant when it is released, then why is it not relevant after? Regarding reverted edit on ghost page

Okay, BUT a ghost pet is a ghost, why can't it still be on the ghost page? Every ghost on that page has its own page but those are still on the ghost page. A ghost pet is a ghost, and a ghost baby (from ghost potion) is still a ghost. They have their own page, but so does every other ghost on that page. About a block you made...

Wir, I have reverted this anonymous user's block because all they did was blank one page. A 3 day block was severely jumping the gun and a warning (which I've already given to the user) is much more suited, especially as it was just one edit. In future when taking action against a user, please consider whether or not it is really worth blocking someone without a warning, especially if it was only one edit. Showtime Logo

Hint on multiple reverts

Hey, I noticed that you had undone two edits in a row to Genie. I wanted to be sure that you knew of a shortcut in bringing a page back to a previous version. All you have to do is open the page history, open up the version of the page you want to use, edit that version of the page, then save the edit. You don't even have to make any changes to the version if you don't want to. Blocking without warning users

Wiryawan, before blocking a user please ensure they have been warned first, especially if it was only one or two edits. I have replaced two blocks you issued with warnings as I felt that the blocks were a little too harsh. Chances are if they're warned for their edits first, they'll most likely acknowledge it and move on. Also, block lengths are in most cases meant to start at 1 day and then escalate if they disrupt the wiki further, though there are cases in which a longer block would be acceptable if their disruptive edits are widespread enough.

I know you hate vandals with a passion; I'm sure every other administrator does too but you should at least give them a chance to redeem themselves before they're blocked.

The era can wait. I need the rounded icon for the "stuff" pack. Also, we need the image of the game too, so I can't update the under construction template. My other computer broke and I lost all important bookmarks, so it'll take a while for me to find some templates that need updating. Why did you revert my edit on the lifetime want page?

I wanted to put in some important information about things like toddlers and children with lifetime wants being a sign of neighborhood corruption, and how to prevent it. How should I have placed that warning?

I revert it because the glitch information is not relevant with the article. the article is provide information about lifetime want and not for technical problem such as glitch. You can still add information about that glitch and how to solve it with a blog, if you look at my page, I write some blog about glitch like example omniplant glitch. and you can link the warning into article at notes like this. btw you must register to create a blog. What I don't get is how people are able to get all the clothing and hair and make-up that is not in the sims3 game.. I would love to create my own sims so that I could upload them to my own sims game.. I just don't know how. I was told to register to this wiki site and I would be able to create them.. I have no idea how. lol

Regarding first blocks

Though the user certainly did something unacceptable, I believe even that didn't guarantee a 3-month block, considering the user didn't do anything bad in the past, and this is their first offense. Still, it depends on the reader's religious views. I'm follower of no religion myself, so I simply considered that to be spamming and vandalism. They were right. In Prank calls, the call about the dropoff having been made is listed twice. I think "The dropoff has been made. You have been warned." is the correct wording -- at least "dropoff" is generally one word in this context. Either way, they were legitimately trying to remove a dupe. Wir, I have replaced a 1 day block you gave to an anon with a warning as it was just one edit. While this edit was indeed in bad taste, it is better to just warn the user first with the hope that they'll acknowledge it and move along otherwise a block would have been appropriate but only if they were warned first. Because the Pleasant family in polish version of The Sims 1 is translated as Kumpel, The Sims 2 translates it as Przyjemniak, but sims are translated as Przyjemniaczek.
