Throughout the series of Sims games a constant timeline has been followed. This is in the order of The Sims 3 coming first, followed by The Sims, and finally The Sims 2. A gap of what roughly equates to 25 years separates these. However, in The Sims 4, there is what can only be interpreted as a different timeline.[1] For instance, the mother of the Caliente twins in this timeline is Katrina Caliente as opposed to Nighat Caliente, their mother in all other games. Distinguishing timelines[edit source]

  • When making a page for a family or sim from The Sims 4, that also appears in the other timeline, the page title should contain (The Sims 4). Conversely, the version of the page for them in the earlier games does not contain anything, e.g. Bella Goth and Bella Goth (The Sims 4).
  • The timeline for the original 3 sims games is not referred to differently than it is now, that is, it is not mentioned, only The Sims 4 has a note added to it.
  • The article Timeline of The Sims series does not discuss The Sims 4 due to being in an alternate universe. Instead, if necessary, a "Timeline of The Sims 4" article will be instead created.
