Week of September 27th, 2015

You know, I've always wondered why people started celebrating holidays months before the actual date, and the day after the holiday everyone seems to forget about it.

Take, for instance, All Hallows' Eve. Already, I'm seeing (fake) Halloween pumpkins and (fake) specter, Grim Reaper, and vampire costumes on sale. I'm almost certain that, after I've given out enough candy to make a dentist rich, everyone's just gonna forget that Halloween even existed, aside from the bellyaches from eating too many sugary treats.

Well, it seems EA is following that tradition, what with the announcement of The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff and all. Christ, that's a lot of stuff packs for The Sims 4 already! I think we have too many, to be honest...

Let us wear our arrr-patches, er, "eye" patches, yar!

Avast, young matey! Show a leg or I'll send yer down to Davy Jones' locker! Time to put on those patches, filthy landlubber! ...okay, so I'm not a pirate, but even if I wasn't, I'm still telling you to get your game patches installed. Patch 25 came out on September 24, 2015, and includes a number of bug fixes. It also introduces the "Jealous" trait.

Always remember to uninstall all mods and custom content before installing the patch, and to run the game at least once without your mods and custom content after installing the patch.[1]

Lucy Bradshaw leaves Electronic Arts!

Lucy Bradshaw, an employee of Electronic Arts for the past 23 years, has announced that she will be leaving the company. She will be replaced by Rachel Franklin as Senior VP of Maxis.[2] Lucy Bradshaw had this to say about her departure:

I've had a wonderful journey at EA and Maxis, filled with amazingly creative people, unforgettable experiences and an inspiring community of players and creators. I have the highest regard for EA's leadership today, their vision and their focus on putting players first. I leave knowing that Maxis is in great hands with a leader and teams who are full of respect for our players, passion for our games, and new ideas to bring to the world of Maxis gamers. I look forward to seeing what's next from these incredible teams, I'll certainly be playing.[3]

In addition, Maxis will now fall under the EA Mobile division of its parent company.[4]

The Sims Wiki wishes Lucy Bradshaw the best of luck on her post-EA career!

And... of course...

Yeah, as I kinda mentioned in the intro, The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff will be coming out September 29, 2015! Happy early Halloween!

Battles!
Ding ding!
Daisy is a nice feminine name (and possibly a great pet name too!), but who is the nicest Daisy out there? Daisy Greenman is quite possibly a daisy herself, seeing that she is no ordinary Sim. But maybe having a plant on two feet is too much for you, and perhaps you prefer a normal holiday to sunny Twikkii Island over an abnormal Sim running into your garden hose while you're watering your lawn. Daisy McCarthy knows the hula like no other, so if you happen to run into her on vacation, ask her for a sample of the native culture!

Which one of these two do you prefer? It's people like you that run our battles and determine the winner — vote now!
