New Wiki feature

Hello Sims Wikians!

I'd like you to take a look at a brand-new article feature on The Sims Wiki - Page Covers!

If you've browsed through wiki articles in the past day or so, you might have noticed the addition of these large photo headers to some pages, notably pages about expansion packs. The headers are produced by the {{Pagecover}} template. That template has reached a final design stage and is ready for use by the general wiki-editing public. See the Pagecover template documentation for a guide on how to use this template.

Presently, the template is available for you to use on articles, though I strongly encourage a limited usage. We have over seven thousand mainspace articles on The Sims Wiki, and not all those pages are significant enough or long enough to receive this design. The template is intended to be used mainly on significant pages, about games or game features. If you find a page that you think could benefit from a Page Cover, be sure to Preview the page before saving your addition.

Some other items of note regarding this template: The image you choose is very important! Preferably the image you use will be close to a size of 670px wide, by 300px high. If the image is significantly smaller, the image is stretched to fit and ends up looking bad. Additionally, please use images of the highest visual quality you can find. The image you select will be very very visible on the header of the page, so it's important to find a picture that looks good at that size. If you can't find a good picture to fit the header, you could even try taking a picture yourself and adding it!

The other administrators and I will probably tinker around with the template some more as it continues to be added to pages. Please let me know ASAP if the template starts to do weird things, stops working, doesn't display things correctly, becomes sentient and starts killing people, etc.

Edit: I wanted to publicly give a big 'thank you!' to the Arrested Development wiki, where the core functions of this template were stolen borrowed from. I wish I could claim credit for inventing this template, but I cannot.

That's all I have for you. Happy Simming!
