Hello Simmers! There's plenty to report on this week, so let's get right to it!
The Sims news[edit source]
- Outdoor Retreat is coming next week
The main menu for The Sims 4 has been updated to announce that The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat - the first game pack in The Sims series and first new "content pack" for The Sims 4 - is to be released sometime next week. If the release adheres to the usual custom of releasing new games on Tuesdays (in North America), then we can expect to see it available on January 20th... but there's no indication that EA will or will not follow that custom, since physical copies of the game aren't being sold in stores. Hopefully by this time next week we'll have a better idea of when the pack will release.
- New Gallery App
EA has launched a new The Sims 4 Gallery app on the Google Play and the App Store, for Android and iOS devices, respectively. The app will allow people to browse content added to the Gallery, add likes and comments, and save content to "My Library" to be automatically downloaded and added to The Sims 4 the next time the game is loaded. A valid Origin account is required to access most of these features, but people do not need to have a copy of The Sims 4 to access the Gallery. Gallery access is included in The Sims 4 (though it requires an internet connection to access), and access and was added to TheSims.com in late November 2014.
- New "trailer teaser"
There's a teaser out now for an upcoming trailer for The Sims 4: Outdoor Retreat game pack. Be sure to check it out below:
The Sims Wiki news[edit source]
- Wikia is planning a significant change to article layouts
This isn't exactly breaking news, but there has been no mention of it on TSW yet. Last month Staff posted a blog detailing upcoming changes to the content space on all Wikia wikis, including The Sims Wiki. - Happy birthdays!
