It's time for the news again!

Sims Universe News[edit source]

The Sims world has been relatively quiet this week, following the release of TS3:UL and SimCity last week.

  • Lazy Game Reviews has posted his review of The Sims 3: University Life. You can see the full review here. Spoiler Alert: He talks about a college-themed expansion pack.
  • SimCity was the best-selling game in the UK last week, according to this chart. The Sims 3: University Life, which released on the same day as SimCity, came in second place overall. Other notable listings are The Sims 3 (base game) in 5th place, The Sims 3: Seasons in 9th, The Sims 3: Pets in 10th, The Sims 3: Supernatural in 12th, The Sims 3: Showtime in 18th, and The Sims 3: Generations in 20th. This means, of the top twenty games sold in the UK this week, seven were part of The Sims 3 series of games and expansions, and eight take place within the "Sims Universe."
  • The Sims 3 Store is having a sale this weekend (March 14 - 17) on some worlds. Prices on Lucky Palms (Standard and Gold editions) and Barnacle Bay will be more than 50% off! If you've been holding out on buying these worlds, now may be the time.

  • Please join me in welcoming Waikikamukow (talk) as The Sims Wiki's newest administrator! I'm fully confident that she'll do an excellent job in her new position.
  • A discussion regarding notability and guidelines for article creation on the wiki has resulted in a draft proposal, which is currently up for consideration by the community. This discussion has been ongoing sporadically for nearly three months and has not been resolved yet, and there are a lot of questions about how the policy should or can be implemented. Bottom line - your input really is needed and appreciated. Please visit this forum thread to weigh in, or check the proposed policy here.

I just ran across this interesting piece of news while perusing Reddit. Apparently SimCity (2013) has been modified to run offline. So, congratulations EA! You managed to enforce the always-on DRM for a record nine days!
