Return of the User Created Contests!

Why not make a contest today?

Hey there Sims Wikians!

You may know that once upon a time, users created contests which the community could take part in. They were popular and everyone seemed to have enjoyed taking part in them.

However, times seem to have changed. Contests had become less popular. There were still some, like the notable Simvivor contest. You're now probably wondering what I'm on about, so I'll get to the point.

Why not come here and create a contest today? I feel that reintroducing the User Created Contests will allow the community to have a little bit of fun. Be as imaginative as you want. You want to battle out a favorite Sim, game or object? You want to create a Big Brother styled contest, like Simvivor? Want to vote on a good feature for The Sims series? Do what you want but just remember to adhere to the general wiki policies and everything should be fine!

We also used to vote for contests we like and have them featured, just like the Featured Articles system. If you see a contest that you like and you think it should be featured, nominate it here and once an administrator has approved the nomination, the community can vote for their favorite contest. If all goes well, we can have a new Featured Contest in time for September 2011. You may have noticed that the Featured Contest voting has become a lot like the voting process for Featured Articles. I feel that this new system will allow User Created Contests to recieve more recognition and users will be allowed to nominate/vote for a contest based on the quality of it and how they enjoy taking part in it.

Now that I have finished boring everyone to death, why not get involved? After all, the possibilities are endless when it comes to making a contest and I'm sure everyone has some great ideas for a new contest!

Happy contesting! Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 22:56, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
