Editing the [edit source]

Hello! A few times now you have edited pages on the wiki by adding information that should be in the template to the body of the main article. In order to edit the template of an article you must go to the top of the editing window and click the "source" tab, there the information in the template of the Sim's article will display at the very top of the page. You will see eye, hair, and skin color there.

Looking at your edit history it seems like you have edited a page the right way at least once, so it seems you may have known this already. Please in the future edit the template directly. The way you are doing it is essentially demanding that another editor finish the job for you, which is disruptive. A wiki Admin has had to clean up after you a few times now. Your edits seem to be in good faith as they are adding to articles that have incomplete information, but if you want to help the wiki please do not leave work for other editors to complete for you and edit the templates correctly. Thank you! Madhackrviper (talk) 14:49, January 18, 2019 (UTC)

Hello. I wanted to draw your attention to the above comment again. Please be sure you correctly integrate information you add into the templates on the article. If you have any questions, please be sure to ask at the Help Desk, or on my talk page. Thank you. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:33, February 6, 2019 (UTC)

February 2019[edit source]

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to The Sims Wiki. Your edits appear to be disruptive and have been undone.

  • If you are engaged in a content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with them on their user talk page or the article's talk page, and seek a consensus.
  • If you are engaged in another form of dispute, such as a user conduct dispute, please start a thread at the administrators' noticeboard.

Please ensure that you are familiar with our policies, and please ensure that you do not make any more edits that appear to be disruptive. Editors that continuously engage in disruptive activity may be blocked from editing. You have now been notified three times about your current behavior, which is failing to properly edit the templates in articles in order to add new or correct existing information. You have also persistently failed to ask for help when needed. Your actions are currently forcing other editors to clean up after you.k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 12:54, February 10, 2019 (UTC)

Please stop making disruptive edits.

  • If you are engaged in a content dispute with another editor, please discuss the matter with them on their user talk page or the article's talk page, and seek a consensus.
  • If you are engaged in another form of dispute, such as a user conduct dispute, please start a thread at the administrators' noticeboard.

If you continue to disrupt The Sims Wiki, you may be blocked from editing. You have already been warned for this, and you have not responded to any of the messages left on your talk page. You have now been adding zodiac sign information where it is not appropriate. Further continued disruptive editing may result in a block.k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 03:42, February 11, 2019 (UTC)

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you disrupt The Sims Wiki. This is your last warning. You may be blocked from editing without further notice if you continue to ignore what other editors have been trying to say to you and continuing to add information improperly.k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:35, February 11, 2019 (UTC)

You have been blocked from editing The Sims wiki for the reason(s) stated above. Repeating this behavior, or breaking other wiki policies may result in additional, longer-lasting blocks or other actions against your account and/or your IP address.

Editing Sim pages[edit source]

Hello. I noticed that your recent edits have been attempting to add a zodiac sign to the {{Infobox Sim}} template. Please keep in mind that the name of the parameter is sign and not Zodiac. Also, the name of the parameter must start with a pipe character: |, or else it will not work. Example:

{{Infobox Sim3
|sign   = Libra
}}

As opposed to:

{{Infobox Sim3
Zodiac = Libra
}}

Also, when adding other information, such as how many days away the Sim is from aging up, please be sure to write it in a proper sentence. Do not simply tack on "15 days away" at the end of a paragraph as this is definitely not how we write articles on the wiki. Consider using "At the start of the game, he is 15 days away from becoming an adult". —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:09, February 22, 2019 (UTC)

Hi there, please read the message above, particularly the point about writing proper sentences rather than being sloppy by adding incomplete, incoherent things like "15 days" or "Nerd 9". Please take the time to correctly implement the information into prose, like writing "He is 15 days away from becoming an adult" or "He is a level 9 nerd". —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 03:52, February 23, 2019 (UTC)

This is the discussion page for an anonymous user who has not created an account yet, or who does not use it. Some IP addresses change periodically, and may be shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address, among other benefits!
