I noticed you tagged Fanon:Stories in Pleasentview as {{fanon-stub}} only five minutes after the page was created. Please note that slapping cleanup tags on a page mere moments after creation can drive away editors, as they may not have had time to adequately improve or develop their page. Housekeepers

I really don't appreciate that you keep changing my information!

I see the Housekeeper NPCs as unsafe because they cannot be made playable without using cheats. As I said, they don't have all interactions and they cannot be invited over -- even with the NPC Call Mod. They may be invited to parties but then they're limited when it comes to interactions. Not all interactions are available, only the default ones like tips, maybe flirt and talk but there's no option to move in/or marry.

They're similar to Hair Stylists. Because Hair Stylist NPCs do the same.

Anyway, you really should test whether the "false" information really is a "false" information. Only because someone thinks housekeepers are beautiful and can be married doesn't mean they are. It's irritating, really!

Hi, when warning users with the new warning templates, please consolidate your warnings under a single level 2 heading, rather than what you did here. See this for an example. Hello C.Syde. I noticed that your signature contains a lot of complex code, and as such it is making the wikitext unnecessarily complex and confusing to read. I noticed that you have inserted <choose></choose> tags into your signature, and as far as I can tell, the difference between your two signatures is extremely subtle and unnecessarily makes the wikitext hard to read without making much of a significant difference. Wikipedia recommends that signatures do not be too long in order to avoid displacing meaningful comments, forcing editors to scroll down (source). Okay, I've decided I'm going to switch between the two signatures every so often, until I decide to just stick to the one I've been using for the past few months. I am aware that most people probably wouldn't care about such a subtle difference. My original intention was to have the template that I've been using to fetch my signature randomly choose which signature to use, but then I found that it fetched both signatures, as the choose and option tags didn't work for this sort of thing, so I've changed it so that only one signature is being used, but then I will just go back to using the first of the two signatures that I'm using. ― C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:58, December 23, 2016 (UTC)

Importance of up-to-date introductory portion of articles

Yes, of course it is important that we acknowledge how it used to be in older versions of the games, but definately not in the introductory text. (It's informal writing that way) The introductory portion of a text is designed to give readers a quick summarised insight on the rest of the text's content. Information that harkens to outdated versions does not fit in the introductory text (as it is considered "extra"), it is best suited in the latter portion of (in this case) the article, under The Sims 4 portion of it. And on the contrary, it is outdated information in the introductory portion that would confuse readers, not the other way around. (of course this is dependent on the older version being aknowledged later in the given article, if it is not, then it would naturally lead to confusion) TheTeostar (talk) 21:12, January 13, 2017 (UTC)

I'm fully aware that Administrators are not immune to the edit warring policy, though in practice, I've always interpreted the second user who reverted to be the one primarily responsible for starting the edit war. Maybe not. But yeah, I'll try to avoid getting into an edit war like that. They were using a bot to make their first three edits to The Sims Wiki, as their edit summary says "Bot Edit" and all of their edits were created in the same minute (and on the same second, to be precise), hence why I blocked. Yes, I remember that deletion. There was a speedy delete on the page and I noticed that the reason for that was what you described. That is why I only mentioned it in the summary and didn't issue any type of warning to anyone as there wasn't any needed. Featured Wiki Videos

Hey C.Syde65. I'm Julia from Fandom's Community team. By now you may have seen our announcement about Wiki Modernization and how we're using featured wiki videos to reduce the number of ads on the site and improve the performance of all Fandom wikis.

As we move forward we plan to have wiki videos in many communities, with Sims wiki being a candidate for videos. If you are interested in which video types we might use you can find some great examples in this blog post. If we start producing videos we may reach out to you, other admins, and users to be involved in writing video scripts or being part of the production process.

Well thank you very much. I do think I would be great at it. But personally I'm happy enough just as an admin, at least for the time being. My thoughts on it may or may not change in future, but for now, I don't really see any need to have bureaucrat status here. For those reasons, I have no intention of applying myself.

I've been quite busy on other wikis I work on at the moment, and I've never particularly had any desire for bureaucrat rights here. Getting admin rights here was enough. MacBookAir/TS4 Cats and Dogs

Hello. I don't know if you can answer or not, but I would like to purchase the Sims 4 AND the Cats and Dogs EP when the latter comes out. I have a MacBook Air, though, and I don't know if it will run. Yes, I did see the system requirements online but I'm not a computer person so those numbers are virtually useless to me. I didn't know if you would be able to tell (based on my Mac's features) if the game would run? Here are MY computer's features:

Version 10.10.4

MacBook Air (13 in-Early 2015)

Processor: 1.6 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory: 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3

Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB

I have enough storage space (around 90 GB left) and online said I only needed 14/15 for the base game + Cats and Dogs EP.

Also, if the processor is a little bit low, would the game still run relatively smoothly? Maybe the graphics just wouldn't be as good but still pretty good.

Here is the Cats and Dogs EP REQUIREMENT:

Hi, I'm not 100% sure of the protocol here, so apologies for any missteps.

I would like to report a problematic user, User:Kaiko_Mikkusu. I'm messaging you because I see you've already left various instructive posts on her talk page. I am reporting her as a nuisance user, & asking she be blocked from editing official game pages.

Most of her "contributions" on character pages are her own personal speculations or ideas about sims & not objective or helpful, just "mental diarhea".

I was tipped off by this page http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/comment/16014116#Comment_16014116 on the official sims forums, showing outright & deliberate page vandalism.

In the discussion following her "troll" post, several forum members attempt to explain (with inhuman politeness) to this girl that what she did was wrong & why.

All she offers are excuses based on some sort of odd rationale that she thinks it's okay for her to vandalize pages, because if she puts something like her fanon in the wrong page: "someone eventually will change it to reflect in-game Susan, OR it will become fanon that Susan's actually Susan Foreman", i.e. "someone else will fix the page & put my story in the fanon section for me". Towards the bottom of the page she even claims that her vandalism is "fan art".

This is an obnoxious nuisance behavior & just makes more work for other editors having to find & revert her nonsense. She has even "re-edited" at least one of her "mental diarhea" edits that I'd already removed, adding a personal contradiction to another user's entry, with which she seems to disagree.

The vandalized page in question Susan_Wainwright has since been reverted. I also looked through her contributions & discovered similar page edits, (which I & other users have now reverted) such as an edit in the Parker_Langerak trivia section stating that "Originally he was suppose to be a girl named Donyelle, with dark skin and blondish\golden brownish hair."

Donyelle_Langerak is a fanon page about a character created by Kaiko_Mikkusu herself.

I am all for "good faith", but judging from the sims forum post, this girl seems to be aware that her post was vandalism but seems to think the rules don't apply to her. Also, from her sims forum post & her edits here, she doesn't seem to have any restrain or common sense regarding what information is or isn't appropriate to post on an official wiki page.

In short, she is making a general nuisance of herself & I'm recommending she be blocked from editing official game info pages, as she doesn't seem to have any judgment between objective game information & personal theories/ fanfiction & will likely just continue to be a nuisance rather than straightening up.

She shows no desire to correct her behavior in the sims forum thread & I'm not sure if she's even capable of recognizing her problematic behavior as such. Nerfbomb (talk) 21:02, September 5, 2017 (UTC)

Can you delete almost all of my fanons? I feel bad...

Man... I feel bad about what I have done to most of my fanons. Like two years ago, I was having a hallucination attack on my fanons and now, I was too afraid to even edit my psychotic mistakes X( , so I just want somebody to delete my fanons so that I can start all over in a more mannered way. So um, can you delete almost all of my fanons except the fanons listed? The fanons listed, I feel like they can stay, because I didn't do anything psychotic there and they're pretty special to me, so yeah.

Enable Discussions?

Hi there C.Syde! I noticed that your community was not yet using Discussions, our Forum feature replacement we developed for our communities last year. We realize your community does not currently use Special:Forums but please consider allowing us to enable Discussions anyway, as it provides more benefits to your community than it's predecessor. We have already switched all new communities to Discussions and are manually enabling it on established communities who are interested in having the feature available for their users.

Discussions is a feature that users can use to post questions, thoughts, images, links and even videos. They can upvote posts and even share them on social media. Users can edit their posts for the first 24 hours, but Admins and Moderators can edit posts anytime. Users can report posts they feel do not comply with our guidelines, or that of the community. Admins and Moderators can remove them. We give you the tools you need to monitor reported posts and users that report them. Since the introduction of Discussions, we have seen a pretty big increase in community interaction. You can find more information on Discussions here.

Let me know if your community would like to have Discussions enabled on the community and the app. I would be happy to take care of it for you. About my recent change to the Susan Wainwright page

Yeah, it's not important. I vandalized her page to add a nonlucid pun about Susan Foreman from Doctor Who, because I was blinded by her addictiveness. And? It means nothing. That's all done now. It's not who I am. Although it's why I'm not popular. There's no need to have a reference to it in her sims wiki page. Quiznak, likely there's no need to reference me on a Susan Wainwright page, and there's no need to reference Susan in an official Wikipedia page about me. About the Sims from the Sims Pet Stories

Thank you, I'm glad I could help out with the articles! I'm wondering how you noticed that Ian Curtin and Zeeshan Despret have the same facial features? I would have never noticed that! Would you consider making an article about the face templates in the game? I've always been curious about them but I can never find any real information, only default replacements. I recognise some of them but it seems to me that there is a lot more to know. Or maybe there isn't more to it, but I'd be curious if you know more about it. Tricou family image

Sure, feel free to change it back. I thought they were posed kind of awkwardly in the original picture that's why I looked through my own thumbnails. This is another version I had and there is also this one that's used on several other Wikis. The last version was low quality for some reason, so I had to export it again. I didn't even notice that! However, I just had my game generate a new image and this time the resolution is much better but the poses are the same as before. I just checked my settings and everything is set to the highes quality possible. I didn't even think to change anything before since I assumed the issue was with SimPE but now I'm pretty sure that's not it either. It's a mystery to me why the game produced such a low quality thumbnail. If you think the quality is good enough now, would you like to use it again? I suppose there could be a "legitimate" reason, such as losing her login & starting a new account instead of trying to recover her login info, but given her general behaviour both here & elsewhere in the internet, I doubt that very much.

In one blog post she refers to herself in 1st person talking about her obsession with Susan Wainwright & saying that she "tainted" the Wainwright's "reputation", in the next post she's using 3rd person as if trying to pretend to be someone else.

Multi accounting is not new behaviour from Kaiko, she has had numerous multi's caught & banned on Mod the Sims & the EA sims forums.
