About achievements

Hiya Vss! I saw you asked another contributor about re-proposing achievements in the community portal and would just like to inform you again about why (at least I believe) that may not be a good idea.

Originally, we did have a discussion to keep them after they were accidentally activated. Feel free to read it, as it has important notes as to why users didn't want to have the feature stay (note that I supported it staying at the time). In the end the largest part of the voters decided it should go, so naturally, it went.

Many of the arguments, including the feature favoring quantity over quality, were very valid. If you want to post the idea in the community portal again, I can't stop you, however, please read the original discussion and think over as to whether opinions will be any different from then up to now.

I can't really say for certain, since that's up for the Bureaucrats to decide. I think the general consensus was after Georgie was promoted that we really don't need any more bureaucrats at the moment... Era Template

Hi there. I've noticed you've been adding {{era}} to pages. I just thought I'd inform you that era is still ongoing in testing, and it's not ready for a site wide rollout yet, to the best of my knowledge, as the kinks are still being worked out of it. RE:Animation

If you want to get an image on your page, just look around this wiki (or any, actually - my animation actually comes from Call of Duty wiki) for an image you might like. Then copy it's filename and search for it, but don't forget the file prefix. Then, when on the file page, click on the actual image. You should go to a page with just the image on a white background, and no text. Copy the page's URL, and add this code:

<div style="position:fixed; bottom:0; left:0">http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20110712205725/callofduty/images/4/44/Rarity_Strut.gif</div>

Just replace the URL that's in there with the one of the image you want, and you'll have something similar. This can also be useful for static templates as well. Hi there. You are welcome to make a wiki that is dedicated to The Sims Stories (in the same fashion as The Sims Medieval Wiki is dedicated to The Sims Medieval). However, all I can say is that from looking at some traffic reports, this report for TSW shows that we get miles more traffic than in this report for TSMW, meaning that while your wiki may get a few thousand views a day, it's likely to be a lot less than we get here on TSW. I'll be honest: I suck at making logos. All I can say is that you'll need some software that is capable of creating an image. I'd recommend you download GIMP as it is much more powerful than Paint and is capable of making a transparant PNG (in case you change the skin colour). If you want to gain editors to your wiki (who can potentially create a logo if you encounter difficulty or you want to hold a logo contest), I think creating a blog would be a good idea to approach that. You can find some GIMP tutorials across the Internet (as I'm not very good with it either :P), in case you get stuck. RE: A Notice

Thanks for the heads up. I did some comparisons between DP and RB and while it is odd that they both retired after being declined for rights, there are some differences. RB did vandalise my userpage straight after I declined his/her request and then retired once they were warned whereas DP just left me a friendly note and left. I've noticed that DP seems to have better grammar than RB. I'll keep an eye out for anyone else that does this but I don't think it's really worth looking into in that much detail, as they don't seem to be causing any harm. Again, thanks!
