RE: Nice to meet you[edit source]

I don't think it's relevant to make individual pages about every song in The Sims 2. But there is a page about Sims Music.

I'm not sure if the page needs to be improved at this time, as I've never edited that particular page myself. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:14, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure you're not the youngest editor here, there are other editors on this wiki that are around 13 - 15. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:32, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

I'll probably just do some of the music from the base game, but I'm sure there will probably be other editors that can help me out on more music from the game, and some of the expansion packs. Do you think that's a good idea? And I'm sort of not very good at signing after a message but I hope it did it right. And I'm fourteen, so I'm one of the youngest editors. -- Jakob Johnson 09:48, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, and I have one more thing to say. You did an awesome job of doing those fanons on The Sims 2! I have The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection, and this is what I did so far:

  • Got Johnny and Ophelia into College, Tank and Ripp soon...I continued to play with Olive until she died.
  • Made Loki and Circe WooHoo and give birth to a girl named Ciencia (Spanish for "science")
  • Pascal gave birth to a girl and I named her Venus, after the planet.

That's pretty much what I did so far. I hope you're impressed. It was truly nice to meet you. Sorry that I'm typing too much. -- Jakob Johnson 10:12, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

Notice: Not signing posts[edit source]

Hello. When you add content to talk pages and forums (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:36, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

Nah, here's the issue: Your signature doesn't contain a link to your userpage or your user talk page! Signatures should include a link to those pages, so people can find you easily. To fix this, go to Special:Preferences, make sure the checkbox "I want to use Wikitext in my signature" is checked, and then copy and paste the following into the field:

[[User:Coastercam7788|Coastercam7788]] ([[User talk:Coastercam7788|talk]])

That will produce your username and a link to your user talk page and userpage. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 12:05, August 13, 2014 (UTC)

Making a lot of edits[edit source]

Hello. I noticed that you've made a large number of edits in a short period of time to your userpage. While this isn't against the rules, keep in mind that this will flood recent changes, possibly making it less effective. Next time, try adding all or most of your changes in one edit, and use the Preview button to see what it will look like (it's there for a reason!) thanks. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 09:20, August 14, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for reminding me. I'm sort of a rookie at editing in Wikia. Is it okay if I started adding new pages of some of the music from The Sims 2? -- Coastercam7788 (talk) 10:05, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

Probably not. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 10:15, August 15, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, okay, sorry. How about instead I do new pages of those terrains from The Sims 2? You know, the ones you use to create a new neighborhood. (Not the ones that have already been made into towns.) If you don't mind, maybe you can help me out if I mess up on some things. -- Coastercam7788 (talk) 08:05, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
I'm not sure if I'm exactly the right person to answer that. You should probably ask an admin. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:10, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
Is k6ka one of the admins? -- Coastercam7788 (talk) 08:16, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
Yes. But he probably won't respond until tomorrow. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:18, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I'll talk to him by then. One more thing, I'm about to send Ripp and Tank into college, and Ripp has a girlfriend (who I haven't gone steady with her yet) named Tiffany Riley , One of the teenage Strangetown townies and one of his best friends Armando London (real name "Warren Sims " from Bluewater Village). Is it okay if I send Tiffany and Armando to college along with Ripp and Tank? -- Coastercam7788 (talk) 08:25, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
Yes. But that's quite interesting because in my game I got Tank Grunt together with Tiffany Riley, though I admit that Ripp would be a better match for Tiffany than Tank. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 08:29, August 16, 2014 (UTC)
I don't see how it wouldn't be okay. You should download the Age Transition - Teens Keep Loves mod listed on the linked page, so they don't lose their loves when they transition into young adulthood. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 20:36, August 16, 2014 (UTC)

RE: New terrain pages[edit source]

Hi there. I'm not entirely sure if we actually need such pages on those terrain templates, especially because some of them are horribly name (e.g. sample.sc4). However, if you feel that you can do it, you can give it a shot (for some of the neighborhood names, such as those that have the same name as existing hoods, such as Pleasantview, you should add (template) or something to denote that the article is about the neighborhood template, not the actual pre-made neighborhood itself. E.g. "Pleasantview (template)".). Also, I guess I should've told you earlier, but you don't need to ask me (or any other administrator) for permission to do something that doesn't require an administrator to do, i.e. creating a new page. You may be questioned or reverted, but don't take this as a slap in the face - rather, take it as part of the learning process. We learn better from our mistakes and our faults, not by reading a long sheet of paper. In other words - Be Bold!. --k6ka (talk | contribs) 11:37, August 24, 2014 (UTC)

Thanks, k6ka. I'll probably just do the ones that EA didn't make into towns, is that okay? - Coastercam7788 (talk) 06:52, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Starting a fanon[edit source]

I suppose the easiest way would be to copy the templates you needed from another fanon and then replace the context with your own.

When I create a Sim page, I tend to copy the infobox and simology templates from one of the already existing Sim pages.

You could always use the preview button, before publishing a fanon, or using the Sandbox to do test edits first. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 11:14, December 17, 2014 (UTC)

I'm sorry to say this to you, but I uninstalled The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection from another computer. But the good news is that my idea for a fanon is not abandoned because later tonight my Toshiba laptop is going to be back at my house after weeks of waiting for it to be fixed. In the near future, I'll install The Sims 2: Deluxe or Double Deluxe on that laptop and I'll be able to start my fanon when it's done installing. Anyways, thanks for the advice, C.Syde. I appreciate it. By the way, one more question. How do you find the images of Sims, and how do you find their interests? Coastercam7788 (talk) 03:03, December 18, 2014 (UTC)
You will need SimPE to be able to view the Sims' headshots - the ones with the black backgrounds I mean. SimPE (The simple DBPF-Package Editor) can be downloaded here.
As for the interests, they can be viewed in-game, or with SimPE, though the interests for universal NPCs like the Therapist, Grim Reaper, Hula Zombie etc. can only be seen in-game.
However you probably won't want to view the interests of universal NPCs since it may corrupt your game. -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 03:16, December 18, 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for letting me know, C.Syde. Happy holidays! :) Coastercam7788 (talk) 03:22, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

RE: Fraternity and sorority for Academie Le Tour[edit source]

Instructions on how to join a greek house, or start a new one can be found here.

Hope this helps! :) -- C.Syde (talk | contribs) 00:09, April 3, 2015 (UTC)

Thank you, C.Syde. Appreciate it. Coastercam7788 (talk) 00:47, April 3, 2015 (UTC)
