Re: Platinum Badge promo image on the main page of The Sims Wiki[edit source]

LostInRiverview passed your message along to A morris and myself. Since I recognize that the question is not whether to add the image to our main page, but where, I suppose that placing it in the right column would cause the least disruption. Also, I suppose that, technically speaking, it is being featured, so there's a certain logic to placing it in the "featured content" column. Dharden (talk) 21:03, October 26, 2010 (UTC)

Since the promo was to end on November 21 and it's now November 22, will you - or can we - remove this image? Dharden (talk) 16:49, November 22, 2010 (UTC)

The Late Night promo blog[edit source]

Joe, I don't want to do this, but I am seriously considering putting a semi-protect on the Late Night promo blog. I'm considering this because it seems that the worst offenders wrt profanity and the like have been anon users. I don't want to do it, because it would be restricting a class of users due to the actions of a few. Still, if that's what it takes to stop the anon abusers, and it looks to me like it is, I will do it unless you as Wikia staff tell me not to. Dharden (talk) 21:31, October 31, 2010 (UTC)

please disable commenting on this blog because anons and new users keep using inappropriate words on it.--Monster2821 (Talk) 16:26, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
I have to agree. I've even tried semi-protecting it, but unfortunately protections don't apply to blog comments so apart from disabling comments or deleting the blog altogether, there's not much I can think of to stop this. I've been deleting really bad comments, but I think the only thing the administrators can do at this point is adopt a zero-tolerance policy on that specific blog, and start issuing blocks for any amount of spam. The blog is such a huge mess, and the admins here have so little power to do anything about it; please do something! --LostInRiverview talk · blog 19:32, November 1, 2010 (UTC)
Monster and LIR - please see my message on Dharden's talk page. I just deleted a few comments myself and will continue to help out for the rest of the promotion. In the meantime, I will certainly pass on your feedback to the organizers of the promotion. JoePlay<staff /> (talk) 20:14, November 1, 2010 (UTC)

Re: Platinum badge event done[edit source]

Thanks, Joe. We did have a vote, and decided not to keep the achievements system. I did notify Wikia through Special:Contact, and it looks like it's already taken care of, but thank you for offering. Dharden (talk) 18:21, November 22, 2010 (UTC)

Semitransparent background[edit source]

Thanks, that's insanely helpful. A couple other things; I might propose to make these visual changes I've been working on wiki-wide, so I am trying to get it visually "ideal" before I do. I've noticed two things I may wish to adjust. First, there is a horizontal gray 'bar' in between the 'header area' (where the wordmark and menus are) and the 'content area'; do you know how to get rid of that or change it? Additionally, I'm thinking about the other background you made (the Sims 'mosaic') and possibly checking out what that would look like in the header area; do you know how to change the header background individually? The code on my wikia.css page changes the header and content areas simultaneously.

You've been a tremendous help through all of this. Thanks a ton! -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 03:20, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, the mosaic is a bit 'loud'. It might also help to highlight the dropdown menu buttons (currently they're transparent). I've added some code to my .css that I borrowed from Les Sims Wiki which makes the buttons a solid color, and it works for the time being. -- LostInRiverview talk · blog 17:07, June 29, 2011 (UTC)

Question[edit source]

Could you please fix my User:Guilherme Guerreiro/wikia.css and put it to 90 opacity, I can't make it and when I refresh it, it becomes the same, could you fix it? Thank you! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 17:02, July 1, 2011 (UTC)

You did that and now I only see two plumbbobs which is not the current background :(, anyway thank you for the help. --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 17:10, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
But I wanted to remain, but the "content area" to be white and not transparent, could you that for me? I don't know how to. Thank you! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 17:30, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
Thank you. It's fixed. :D Sorry for dumbness! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 18:02, July 1, 2011 (UTC)
Even though the content area is white it has still some transparent plumbbobs showing uo, how could I fix this? Thank you! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 09:08, July 2, 2011 (UTC)
This is what I am seeing:
Hmm but I thought the content area was not only the article but the whole area for the wikia content, including the areas like the logo and menu and hot spots and community corner because those zones remain transparent when I put what you gave me. I'm sorry to disturb you, once again. Thank you for the help, JoePlay. --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 16:40, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
My apologies, I messed up with something, could you fix User:Guilherme Guerreiro/wikia.css. Thank you! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 17:29, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
It's what I wanted, but I clicked Ctrl+F5 and nothing happened, it remained the same, I don't know what happened, maybe a caching problem? Thank you! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 18:00, July 5, 2011 (UTC)
Wooo! It's perfect now! Thankies :DDDD! --Guilherme Guerreiro(talk here) 18:09, July 5, 2011 (UTC)

The background...again[edit source]

Hey JoePlay, sorry to bother you like this. As you may be aware, the Theme Designer was updated with a transparancy option, which conflicted with our translucent background. I've removed the translucent CSS for now until we can find a solution (it's still in the page history if you want to see it). We've made this post on the Development Portal regarding this issue and I'm wondering if there is a way we can get the transparent background back to the way it was before the update. Thanks in advance! Regards, Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 00:01, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Ah okay then. Thank you very much for your help! :) Kind regards, Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 17:07, July 28, 2011 (UTC)

Mosaic[edit source]

Hey Joe, sorry to bug you but I thought you would be the best person to ask about this. You probably would have noticed that our mosaic header has disappeared due to the new navigation bar, which will eventually become mandatory iirc. I was wondering if there was a way we could still get the Mosaic to work while using the navigation bar (I looked through the CSS and I couldn't find anything :S). Thanks! Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 23:09, October 11, 2011 (UTC)

Our wiki is attractive again! :P Thanks for your help! :) Lost Labyrinth (c)(b) 22:57, October 12, 2011 (UTC)
Oh, may I ask you something? When I go with my mouse on the navigation bar the options of it don't appear, I can just click "On the Wiki" and no option will appear. :c Do you know what happened? Thank you. --RoseGui (talk here) 17:26, October 13, 2011 (UTC)

Header[edit source]

Hey JoePlay. Sorry to bother you like this, but it seems that our mosaic header isn't long enough anymore, which causes it to repeat, resulting in a very odd appearance. If you're not too busy, could you create a new header that is able to repeat while looking like one whole image? —Random Ranaun (Talk to me!) 05:42, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Request for help[edit source]

I've started a discussion about the new theme. Perhaps you could go there and say hello? This is mostly going to be a community thing, so I don't have any particular answers for you as far as how the theme should look. - LostInRiverview talk ~ blog 17:49, June 26, 2014 (UTC)

Template:Infobox Sim[edit source]

Here the wiki community is discussing a new template design. My question is is there a way for the new Sim template to have a portable draft that changes nothing from the original visually? Thanks for your input! Ѧüя◎ґ (talk) 18:21, June 8, 2018 (UTC)
