Bots + message notifications[edit source]

Not sure if you've found this out already, but I'll just say it anyway - AWB doesn't trigger a new message notification if the edit is marked as minor. (minor edit checkbox is just below the summary input, in my copy of AWB at least). I'm hoping that people will still see the message that your bot left them though. ―ฬђ talk 04:24, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Licensing Images[edit source]

There have been several notices where the automated categorization with Special:Upload doesn't work, leaving all images uploaded with it uncategorized, as in here, below that, here, and here. This is not affected if you upload files while editing or using Special:MultipleUpload though. I guess I just need to let you know about this. Nikel Talk – Vote! 03:42, August 18, 2012 (UTC)

I know there isn't a way via Special:Upload to easily add a category to something although any of the image licenses will categorise the file. I'm more inclined to believe that most users go for the Photo Gallery option on the edit page, which has no one-click method of licensing/categorising an image. Well, maybe I've always been the unfortunate one, but I've several times uploaded with Special:Upload, but no matter what category I use, the file in result will never be categorized. TheSims23 told me instead that uploading the images while editing will successfully categorize it. :/ Nikel Talk – Vote! 07:27, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Something has happened to the Wiki...[edit source]

I just logged on and there's this weird message like "click here to start a new page, the Wiki is waiting for you to start writing" on the Recent Actitivty page. I don't know what's happened, but it seems someone's erased all the pages on the wiki. AsherEire talk 23:06, August 23, 2012 (UTC)

Nominating for rollback[edit source]

Recently (well not really recently, since it's been long time) I notice that we no longer need the consensus vote if anyone nominates themselves for rollback, as a bureaucrat only needs to review their contributions. I don't think we have anything concrete regarding that, meaning that's where a potential dead end comes in. I'd recommend for the time being that if Bureaucrat A wants to nominate a user for rollback then the request should be approved by Bureaucrat B. I was going through the edits of the article The Sims 3: Seasons and found a vandalism edit from an unknown contributor. I revert his edits already to the original ones.

Featured Article[edit source]

Can you, or can you have another administrator, update the Featured Article template? I would but I have to run to work so I won't have time today, and the update is already late. Unless something drastic has changed, the article with the most votes is Dina Caliente Nina Caliente. Additionally, there is a partially-completed write-up for Dina Nina Caliente on The Sims Wiki:Featured Article/Write-ups.

I personally don't believe in an arbitrary edit count; I'd rather give rollback to someone with 200 very good edits than 500 disruptive edits. Besides that, I do give weight to how well the user is able to edit the wiki, how much experience they have with editing and how much they contribute to the content mainspace. My personal recommendation for you, should you wish to obtain usage of the rollback tool in the future, is to simply just keep doing what you're already doing and try to gain some experience with editing the wiki in general. CoryMach7 is back!![edit source]

This is fairly important to do with CoryMach7, He is on Everyoneisadmin's wiki, shall I Permenantly block him or not and he has  also made a sims fanon wiki a Lucky Palms wiki and another one. I also have a plan but will it work: It is to become an admin on his wiki and block him from copying work from these pages and is trying his best to get as much Info on Our wiki and steal it we think, Everyone is alert on the wiki and he has blocked you on there, gave him an warning and also said that he will barely have any users left so I thought I will contact you so if he does you are ready on patrol.

A few things:
  1. I don't have any affiliation, nor does The Sims Wiki in its entirety, with the Everyoneisadmins Wiki. It's really up to their admins on whether or not they want to enforce any kind of disciplinary action against this user.
  2. The majority of us are aware that he has made several wikis both related to and in spite of his block from here. Unfortunately there's nothing we can do about it - anyone is free to create a wiki on virtually anything using Wikia.
  3. If I were you, I wouldn't even bother with that plan. I can see that your heart is in the right place but retroactively doing something like that will more than likely make matters worse than they already are and it won't look good on us.
