Re: Impulsive

I have noticed that, especially when working with Auror, you tend to jump to conclusions about her behavior rather quickly. That causes Auror to become defensive because she's worried about getting banned by the admins, which causes her to lash out at you, creating an incident. I may be wrong here, but that's how I see it. Personally, in my observing her recent behavior I have not seen anything out of line in how she has acted. She's not a bad person and we need to let go of things she may have done in the past. As far as I am concerned, she should not be afraid of a ban from me, as she has proven to me that she has learned her lesson and has become a very constructive contributor here. FWIW, the little green notices Oasis uses can be easier to overlook than Monaco's new-message notifications were. I'm not sure what term would apply. Step-parent/step-child relationships imply that the step-parent married into the relationship, so Lola and Chloe can be considered as Kitty's step-daughters, but not Glabe's. Likewise, they weren't adopted, at least, not according to the in-game sense of the term, so the "adoptive" tag doesn't really fit, either. Dharden (talk) 21:20, November 26, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, you are - at least as I understand the terms. "Lived with" doesn't matter. If the father of someone who is an adult with his own home re-marries, his father's new wife is still his step-mother. Glarn was married to Glabe when the twins were born, so she did not marry into a relationship with them. Capitalization

Grammar: Parallel Structure

Hello! Just wanted to let you know why I corrected "... he has pale green skin, grey hair and is barefoot." It's a grammatical rule in English called parallel structure. You can read more about it here:

"He has pale green skin, grey hair and is barefoot" is incorrect because it does not have parallel structure. To fix it, you could change it to:

"He has pale green skin, grey hair, and bare feet."

This would follow the form, He has: object 1, object 2, and object 3.

The original sentence was incorrect because it follows the form, He has: object 1, object 2, and [different verb, is]. You've change the verb from has to is, in the middle of the series.

Parallel structure is kind of hard to explain, but can you see it? :)

Oh yeah, I think it's fine. Actually, it's really good considering that you're 14! But of course, if a language isn't your native one, you can expect to be corrected once in a while. I think that for anyone, learning another language involves a neverending process of improvement... it takes years and years to become as proficient as a native speaker. I'm also learning another language right now and living in a foreign country. And believe me, it's so frustrating not to be able to sound as articulate as I do in English! So I know what that's like. You just have to keep writing and talking a lot, and people are going to keep correcting you, but that's how you get better.

Of course I still make plenty of mistakes as well, even in my own language, so I appreciate it when people point out my errors. I enjoy languages and grammar, so I make a lot of small grammar edits on wikis. I just noticed... where are the lifetime wishes gone? On Margherita Savoy's or Delicia hoover's pages, for example, there is no mention about these wishes, but when editing the template in "Source" mode, they are noted just like any other information... Do you know why their don't appear on the page?

Your comment on 'Categories for Deletion' talk page

GG, I think you might be just slightly confused about what our policies allow and don't allow. There is no rule saying that a user can't call an article 'stupid,' especially if that user is lobbying for its deletion. The problems arise when profanity is used - words which you would not use around small children, and which are promptly removed when seen - or when a user takes to insulting or attacking another user, or uses language which is likely to do so. So, for example, calling something 'stupid' is in most cases OK, but calling something 'retarded' or 'gay' is not. Even in this situation, there is no written rule here that says a user can't use that language, but if it's accepted that the words do cause insult to some users, then they should be avoided.

I admit that describing which words are and are not acceptable is very difficult, especially if you aren't a native speaker of the language, as you can usually tell the intent of someone's words if you are completely familiar with the language. If ever in doubt about whether a message, edit or comment is out of line, ask one of the admins or a native English speaker here and we can help figure it out. -- LostInRiverview ^{talk · blog} 18:21, December 5, 2010 (UTC)

"Stupid" when used on a person is insulting, but it more or less acceptable (but not preferred) when talking about other things. It's really hard to describe... people who have mental illnesses, severe mental or learning deficiencies. Things like Down Syndrome would fall into that category, but things like this are hardly black or white. In the US especially, these people are often called "Mentally Retarded" but the term has gone beyond that to mean one of insult - "retards" or to say that someone is retarded just as a synonym for stupid. -- LostInRiverview ^{talk · blog} 21:03, December 5, 2010 (UTC)

Press the Print Screen key. (Sorry, I don't know what that'd be on your keyboard. BabelFish says Print Screen translates to Tela de cópia, but I have no idea if that'd be on a key.) Anyway, that copies the current screen to the clipboard. Open Paint, or some other graphics program, but Paint will do), and select Paste. That should paste the image into Paint. Re: CD, again

Not as many as you used to. I often see "to" instead of "for" or "with" in edits from people who aren't native speakers of English. For example, I've often seen "pregnant to". Just like the headline says... You're very welcome! :) It's the main reason why I joined. Right now, I do not know how to work with the links and such, so I'm leaving that alone and sticking to the spelling and grammar. ^^;

I am not fluent in any language other than English. I am very well-versed in English grammar and spelling, though. There do appear to be some mistakes in your profile. Sadly, there is no way to be certain which mistakes on other pages were done by you or another Wikia user.

Well... for starters, you have a startling amoung of run-on sentences. Some sentences should be deleted to preserve your privacy (if desired). Be sure that your profile is up-to-date. For instance, your age changes. Many people prefer to keep their age hidden. That is your choice, however. Be mindful of your punctuation.

I believe the correct way to type it would be something like this: "Bob is her ex-boyfriend and they currently hate each other."

Questions

First question: That's a valid one. The only thing I would say is that the Fanon Admins and the community, when planning the merge, would determine where the line of profanity is. I would personally be comfortable with allowing masked swearing in fanon articles, but that's just me.

Second question: I don't really think you're that feminine... masculinity and femininity don't really come out well unless you know someone personally, so it's harder to tell sometimes.

The Alto family gallery was munged, all right. As for the Sims who appear in the Nintendo DS version of The Sims 3, I'm leaning toward the view that it's a different continuity, and that those Sims should be thought of as different people from their counterparts in other games. I don't know. I think there is less confusion there than there is with Malcolm. Even if the Holly Alto and Alex Goth in the DS version of TS3 are aren't considered to be the same people as their PC-game counterparts, there aren't many different Holly Altos or Alexander Goths to keep separate. There are so many Malcolm Landgraabs who either appear or are mentioned that we need to work to keep them untangled. Merge?

Hi! I wandered around the wiki and discovered that there was a project, which consists into merging this wiki with the fanon... However, since I just got in the whole thing, I'm a bit lost amidst all the paragraphs and the arguments and to be sincere, I do not understand everything. Since I don't want to tell something wrong or dull, and since you have followed the topic almost sice the beginning, could you, just for the record, briefly (I don't want to disturb you too much) describe me what happened? You are partially right: I do have a very harsh personality. In facts it depends of the persons I'm interacting with. With my friends and people I like, I am friendly, but I ignore people I hate, and when those people I hate begin to mock me or telling me nasty things, I CAN become extremely mean. Fanon Admin

It's your choice whether you choose to apply or not. I know that the Fanon Admins will likely be heavily responsible for the Fanon Namespace, but won't have a lot to do with operations elsewhere on the wiki (according to the fanon admin requests page). So if you want to be in charge of helping set policies, clean up the fanon namespace, etc. than you should apply. "Dating" is the wrong tense. As I've said, high school English was a long time ago, so I don't always remember all the different names, but here's a usage example: I date, you date, he dates. i check main Euro Sims sites daily. Simway, Simfans, Sims Nieuws and Sim Times. most of the time i get emails from the second and third when stuff before they post it. also follow their twitter which will have links to new site post before it's posted on their home page. either that or there is tools that let you view game script, objects, models and etc. one of these programs is another way to get the wish, LTW, trait and other icons. Most of the time though EA Germany or another Euro EA emails one of those sites the images. If and/or when they are released this month or next i'll pass them your way. Well, there is a version available [2]. I thought everyone knew about that. You must be using Postal or something, right? Well, Sim3pe, also known as Sim3pi, is very complicated. What you can do in Sim3pe is mainly tuning mods. You open a package file, extract a resource and then modify it. Then you can add it to a new package file. Btw, you cannot change sexual preferences through Sim3pe, because this doesn't exist in The Sims 3. I mainly use it to make vampires hunt faster, babysitters take a small fee (seriously, is 70§/hour realistic?) and these kinds of stuff. |_Andronikos Leventis ^Talk 20:38, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

Images to articles

I wanted to know if they came from TSMW because I knew I had to transfer over all that wiki's images still, so I was curious as to whether that one had already been taken care of.

Since you're not an admin here, you can't import pages onto this wiki, unfortunately. Since exporting pages saves them into external files, it's most convenient to have the exporting and importing done on the same computer. Actually, I'm well aware of Portugal. When I was studying European royalty, I came across the Iberian royal families. Do you know that Isabel the First of Castile and Leon's (the Queen who sent Columbus to America) mother was a Portuguese princess? It's a very lovely country, very rich in culture and history.

Rei, huh? Interesting! Rey is Spanish for king. Very similar, but not the same. I live in Texas, so I'm exposed to Spanish speakers on a daily basis. Excuse me if I confuse Spanish and Portuguese. ^_^;;

Well, the US is a nice place to live but I'd like to see Europe someday.

• I want to! Really! I'm so jealous of the rich history, the architecture, culture... everything! I guess I'm lucky enough to have distant relatives still living in the "Old Countries" - meaning Britain and Germany. I can freeload at their place while I tour the city. :D My cousin Jamie in Ireland is always bugging me about when I'm coming to hug him in person.
• I guess you could say that I'm in the prime of my life at the moment, being twenty years old. I'm dying to visit Europe, but I have to save up money not only for the trip there and back, but also for expenses like hotels (just in case my cousins don't have room for me), food, rentals and stuff like that. When I get the chance, I'll definitely look into visiting Portugal. The Iberian Peninsula is full of life and wonder, not to mention lovely Roman architecture!
• The US is having economic troubles too. :-( New York is supposed to be lively and stylish from what I hear. Beware of the slums! Quite a few natives are said to be rude, so stand your ground. The streets have heavy traffic so you be prepared to walk a lot and have extra change for a cab if you absolutely must have it. It helps to wear comfortable walking shoes and to dress for the weather. I'd like to visit the City That Never Sleeps someday, and I've done a bit of research. ;-) We might just cross paths there one day!
• Maybe! This year is definitely a stay-in-state year. Next year and the year after that, maybe! I've been talking to my mother about. She wants to go too, so we might start looking into a trip there around summer or autumn. I think either spring, summer or early autumn would be a good time to go there. ;-)
