Copy-paste move on Woodworking table[edit source]
Hi Xyclone010. I noticed you renamed a page by copying the contents of one page and then pasting it into another. Please do not do this, as this causes serious issues with attribution, required for the license Wikia uses. Wikia uses the CC BY-SA 3.0 license, so you must at all times attribute the authors of the content. If you want to rename a page, please see this page on how to use the tools to do so properly. If you cannot use the rename tool to rename a page (for example, if the target page already exists), please contact an administrator and ask for help with the page move. However, please do not simply copy and paste the contents from one page into another as this causes serious attribution issues. This is important; thanks for reading. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:15, December 6, 2018 (UTC)
(Also, on an unrelated note, I noticed that you have used the words "you" and "your" in articles. Please refrain from using these words, since they do not match the encyclopedic tone expected of the wiki. For example, instead of writing "You can make", consider "The player can make" or "Sims can make". —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:18, December 6, 2018 (UTC))
- You don't need to revert your chances to the page as I've already edited to provide attribution to the page. When moving a page to a new title, the rename tool is generally preferred as it will move the page history—and thus the attribution—over to the new title. At the very minimum the page history should be providing attribution to the authors of the page, so if you're copying text from within The Sims Wiki (or any other page that uses a CC BY-SA 3.0 license), you should at the very least provide a link to the original page and explain that the content was copied from there in your edit summary. For example, "
content copied from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution
". In general, we discourage the reuse of content text on multiple pages, but if it needs to be done, this is the minimum requirement for preserving author attribution. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 11:22, December 7, 2018 (UTC)
- Also, I mentioned this earlier as well, but can you please try to refrain from using the word "You" and "Your" in articles? It doesn't fit in with the encyclopedic tone of the wiki. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 02:04, December 9, 2018 (UTC)
RE: Food Carts and Espresso Bars[edit source]
For the record the article also includes a smoothie stand. However, the section writes that "Sims can purchase food or drinks from these stands", so I think we can leave them in both articles. —k6ka 🍁 (Talk · Contributions) 13:28, December 23, 2018 (UTC)
