The main way to build the skill is by digging dirt pile or authentificating artifacts once level 3. The best emotion to increase this skill is focused, but it is harder to get focused in salvadora jungle and the best would be to bring the artifacts home and get focused before authentificating them instead of doing it on the spot.
Sims who reached level 8 can write an archaology book which would bring the reader to level 8 faster than the other skill books
