Sometimes when playing a different household, your Sim may receive a call from Bess asking you for some funds to help her get started on a new project. You can choose to help or not. She'll continue to call and ask for more Simoleons and you can stop giving it to her at any time, at which point she'll apologize and repay the Simoleons you gave to her. If you continue to give Simoleons, at least sometimes her business will flourish and she pays you half of the earnings, §25,000. Additionally, if your sim invests, and her business flourishes, you will get a weekly payment from the business' earnings.
Bess has appeared in all the expansion pack's trailers and can also be seen on the pack's cover art.
