Boarding Schoolsschools offer a unique education experience for [[child]]ren and [[teen]]s, provided their parents are willing to pay for the tuition cost. ThereEach are five types of Boarding Schools available, boarding eachschool trains students in different skills and traits. Sims do not learn traits from the boarding school, but instead, their offensive traits – depending on the type of school – may be replaced with another good trait. If Sims don't have any of the offensive traits, no necessary traits are replaced. Sims graduating from boarding school may start at level 2 of recommended careers of each school.

Every day, there's a chance that children and teens learn a new skill, improve one, or replace an offensive trait. Children have a maximum of 2 replaced traits, while teens have 3. Children can learn at most 3 new skills from boarding school, while teens can learn 4. The maximum skill level children can learn is up to level 2, and level 4 for teenagers. This means that Sims enrolled in boarding school has a limited amount of learned skills.
