Bob had a hard time adjusting to life in [[Riverview]] until he met his new best friend, [[Betty Newbie|Betty]]. When he is not spending time with her, however, he mostly spends time lounging around indoors, leaving his parents concerned. It is said that his father disapproves of his laziness, though Bob's relationship with his parents are great ones. He is a lot thinner in this game and has light brown hair and no facial hair. Bob's face is almost identical to his father, Robert's. However some details have been customized. At the start of the game, Bob is 13 days from becoming a young adult.
 
Even though the chronology of past games suggest he's destined to marry Betty, story progression will sometimes put him in relationships with other women. However, he can easily be directed to start a romance with Betty due to their high friendship level.
 
===Life leading up to The Sims 2 Pets (console)===
Bob Newbie appears in ''[[The Sims 2 Pets (console)]]'' wearing something similar to what he wore in ''[[The Sims 3]]''. He lives with Betty and their dog [[Buddy Newbie]]. He starts out unemployed. As in other games he appears in, he is quiet and a loner. However, it is possible that this may be a different Bob Newbie because he looks nothing like the way he does in any of the other Sims games.
