While a bonsai tree can be purchased from build mode like any other object, there is a way to gain one from gardening. First, a Sim needs to graft a daisy and a strawberry. Then they need to plant the bonsai buds into the ground, or into a [[planter bowl]]. After planting the seeds, a Sim needs to take care of the growing bonsai shrub, like any other plant. When the bonsai shrub has reached excellent quality, it can be converted into a decorative bonsai tree for §25.
