Celebrity status is a feature in The Sims 3: Late Night, in which several Sims are more renowned than others as they gain more popularity and fame. It is reminiscent of Fame in The Sims: Superstar.
A Sim's celebrity status ranges from 1 to 5 stars. Players can tell whether a Sim is a celebrity or not by hovering the pointer at the Sim. The celebrity level will be displayed along with their names. Sims cannot socialize automatically to celebrities. Ordinary Sims and lower-level celebrities must greet and impress them first in order to unlock social interactions with them. Sims who meet celebrities at work don't need to impress them, though. Map to the Stars lifetime reward is able to show the whereabouts of all celebrities around the town depending on their celebrity level.
From map view, celebrity houses are recognized as a house with a star in golden map tag. Sims cannot click on it to visit their home. Sims must manually go to their house and use the call box. If they don't know the Sims or dislike them, they won't allow them to enter.
Obtaining Celebrity Points
There are several way to become a celebrity and obtain celebrity points to level up to higher status. Once Sims gain celebrity status, it won't decrease or be lost, thus Sims will permanently become a celebrity.confirm Sims who are celebrities have an additional journal in their Simology panel; Celebrity Journal.
Impressing Celebrities
The first way to become a celebrity is to impress one. Several premade neighborhoods, such as Bridgeport, Barnacle Bay, and Hidden Springs already have premade celebrities. Pre-Late Night neighborhoods, adventure destinations, and Starlight Shores however don't have celebrities. If players don't have Late Night, Sims will not be recognized as a celebrity, even if the expansion pack is installed later.
Sims must greet a 1-star celebrity, as higher star celebrities might reject being greeted. Sims then must impress them about their skills, careers, wealth, or name other celebrities they've known. The higher the skills, career levels, and money the Sim has, the more likely the celebrities will accept them. If Sims fail to impress them, they will reject socializing with them. Mean Spirited and Evil celebrities will reject them meanly.
Certain traits of the celebrities will make them easier to be impressed, as long as the traits are related to the skills and careers.
