Throughout The Sims series, clocks were featured as objects. With the exception of alarm clocks, clocks usually served no real function. In The Sims 2, they are animated to be in synch with the real in-game time.

An alarm clock is a type of clock object that wakes Sims up when set. These are useful objects, albeit underused, to prevent Sims from oversleeping and manage to get to work in time.
