In the full view, four menus can be seen. The options menu on the top-right lets players save the family, or load one from the [[The Sims 4 Gallery|gallery]]. At the top left there are two menus. One, indicated by a "plumbob" icon and "Hello, My Name Is...", lets the player choose the Sim's name, [[life stages|age]], voice, and walk style. The voice options for Sims who are Teens or older are Sweet, Melodic, and Lilted for females; and Clear, Warm, and Brash for males. Children of both genders can choose two voice options: sweet and warm. Options for walk styles are: Default, Perky, Snooty, Swagger, Feminine, Tough, Goofy, Sluggish, and Bouncy. Players cannot choose a walk style for children.

[[The Sims 4/Patch 34|Patch 34]] changed this view by adding gender customization for Sims who are Teens and older. The option to select male or female remains, but players can now select a Customize Gender option. This option allows players to decide whether the Sim will have a masculine or feminine body frame, whether or not the Sims will be able to get pregnant and impregnate others, and whether the Sim will stand or sit when peeing. In addition to this, all voice options for Teens and older are available to both genders.

 

 

Another option is to Import a Sim from the [[The Sims 4 Gallery|Gallery]] which works just like merging or replacing the household from the Gallery window.

 

In the basic menu, relationships between Sims can be set. These can be: Parent, Child, Sibling, Roommate or Spouse.
