With the Sims 2 Pets installed, Sims with a creativity of at least 5 can create "custom paintings". In order to paint a custom painting, save the picture you would like to paint in Documents > EA Games > The Sims 2 > Paintings. This file will be created upon the installing of the Pets EP. Then, in game, you click on the Easel, then Paint A Custom Painting. Your Sim will walk up to the easel, and a menu will pop up, showing all the pictures in the Paintings file. You can crop, fit, or do nothing (this can create an annoying white background to the painting, as all paintings are the same size) to the picture. This is helpful for creating copies of artwork, posters, or even taking pictures of your Sims.
