Cribs are used for sleeping and play pens to babies and toddlers in The Sims series.

A crib in The Sims

Cribs are not available to purchase in Buy mode since whenever a baby is born, it will automatically appear with and inside it's crib. However, the baby is merely a lump covered in its bedding until removed by another Sim. As long as the baby is in the crib, the crib can be moved in Buy mode or Build mode.

If looked after sufficiently, the baby becomes a child after 72 game hours and the crib will be self-removed.
