Digging was reintroduced in ''[[The Sims 4]]'' and permitted Sims to dig up a variety of [[File:Sims_4_digging.png|thumb|A Sim digging in '''The Sims 4''']]metals, trophies, crystals, and fossils.<ref>http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/collections/</ref> Unlike previous games, Sims do not dig in the ground with a shovel, but instead break particular rocks with a hammer and chisel to find collectibles. If a Sim finds a treasure map and keeps it in their inventory, they will gain the option to 'Dig for Treasure'. Digging for treasure will always result in the Sim finding a MySims trophy. Digging for collectibles is a key aspect of the Nature [[Aspiration (The Sims 4)|aspiration]] 'The Curator', and Sims with this aspiration will often have [[Whim]]s to do so.
