Seven years later, Alex's feeling toward Jean became stronger. He was saddened when Jean went to France for a month. After Jean's return, Alex confessed his feeling, but his confession rejected by Jean who reveal that she already had relationship with someone else. Coincidencetally, Alex also told by his mother that they family would move to Roaring Heights, so Alex didn't mind with Jean's decision, even though his feeling toward her didn't changed.
Alex approached Leona while she was on her way to her class. He asked about Jean, and made her felt curious. Alex then revealed that Jean didn't answer her message for three days and he worried about her. But Leona told him that Jean was okay and would return soon in a week.
 
In one day, Alex learned that Chris and Tamera would went to the old mine to find a Rainbow Gem. Knowing how dangerous the place was, Alex decided to accompany the two and help them finding the gem.
One day, Alex and Mortimer were hanging out when they overheard Nina Caliente's conversation on phone. After learning that Nina was ''toying'' on Malcolm, Alex was furious and cursing her, causing Mortimer to scold him for cursing.
 
Alex was later present in Jean's homecoming party and gave Jean his handmade cake (taught by Bella). Sometime later, Alex confessed his love for Jean, but didn't received her answer yet (unknown to Alex, Jean already dating someone else she met while in France). Alex then told by his mother Ana that their family would be moving to Roaring Heights.
 
Alex then gave Jean a message and asked her to meet in Flying V's Coffeehouse.
