Alva loved to fish, almost more than loved work. Every day before and after work he could be found fishing atin the pondswamp in the Delgapho Familyfamily's farmhome's frontback yard. He also loved relaxing in the hot tub with his wife, giving them quality time together.

Alva's greatest possession was his motorcycle, named after his favorite biblical character, Ezekiel. Alva drove Ezekiel to and from everywhere, even work. His family was often embarrassed that he rode a motorcycle, and the townfolk laughed at him, but Alva didn't care. When he was on Ezekiel, he was care and worry free.
