She was also a diligent student and a responsible cat owner, fostering deep and loving relationships with her two cats who continued to be her pride and joy, and to Ava were more important than partying or dating.
One day, she invited a school friend around to hang out with after school, and while they were chatting, their conversation began to turn flirty and ended with Ava kissing her. Ava, confused about having feelings for another girl, broke the conversation off and took a cold shower. To distract herself, she burried herself in school work and her paintings.
While she was at a house party that her aunt, Lara, had thrown, Lara went over to her and introduced her to one of her friends, Cassandra Holland, who Caleb also had a bit of a flirty thing with. Ava and Lara became first friends and would often hang out with each other, but their relationship soon became more flirty. Caleb, noticing that his sister had feelings for Cassandra, as a result would tell Cassandra that their flirts had to stop as he did not want to get in the way, and soon after, Ava and Cassandra had their first kiss.
Ava began to embrace her identity as a lesbian more and more, and would see Cassandra often to hang with, chat with and go on dates. Eventually, they became girlfriends when Ava visited Cassandra's family.
