As a toddler, her father [[Fanon:Lance Oakenstead]], abandoned her and her mother, [[Fanon:Scarlet Oakenstead]], due to the guilt of giving his daughter his vampire powers. As a young girl growing up, Ava lived in the normal town, of [[Pleasentview,|Pleasentview]], in a small house where she found it hard to fit in with the other children, especially other girls her own age, due to her vampiric urges and "gothic" style of dress, and was constantly jealous of other girls whose father's pampered them, as she didn't have a father of her own. She also constantly felt lonely, having no friends and the only person who she ever talked to on a regular basis was her mother.
