Russo received five years probation and was ordered to stay fifty yards (46 meters) away from Hartley, unless at public events, which then would be reduced to ten yards (nine meters). As a result from the incident, she was driven into depression and was self-harming. She developed an eating disorder and she checked herself into rehab. After three mouths in treatment, she got out. Worried of her mental state, a judge has decided that their son, Chris, would stay with father, but would be allowed to see his mother at any time.
