Derby was born a little over a decade before the start of the Sims 4, at Magnolia Promenade General Hospital. He aged up to a teenager by the time Draven also aged up, and moved to Riverside Roost, meaning the move happened very recently.
By the start of the Sims 4 proper, Derby is a teenager and attending high school (though it is implied that he is supposed to be a preteen at most).
