Before the game started, Emma and her twin sister, Chelsea, were born to newlyweds Kerry, a police officer, and Jim, a businessman. When the girls aged up from babies into children, they began attending the local elementary school. Shortly afterward, Kerry became pregnant with a son, Chris, and then soon after adopted a fourth and final child, Madison.
