==Early Life==
Holly was the first child spawned by Reed Rose. A confident child, she could always be found pulling any small objects she found apart to see how they worked. Noticing this, her great aunt Willow suggested that she train as resident handywoman, in her words, 'so she can put the ****** lot back together again.'

==In the Fanon==
The story begins just as Holly receives permission from the elders to spawn a child. Despite her often blunt and somewhat masculine nature, she has strong maternal instincts and is delighted at the prospect of becoming a mother, although the necessary study proves difficult for her as more practical than academically minded Sim.

She is seen to have a difficult relationship with Larch, who often borrows the tools she needs for her maintenance work without asking permission. Her angry outburst at this is one of the events leading Larch to seek comfort in Lily and to rebel further against the family's social expectations. She remains unaware of this, however, and shows confusion and concern at her sister's sudden illness. Holly nurses her devotedly for the first few days, before Lily insists that she be left alone until her illness (pregnancy) is over. During this time Holly continues to pursue her parental studies and encounters several difficulties with the family grill due to Moss 'borrowing' it for his 'secret project'. Willow made the decision not to turn to Holly for assistance in this as she felt that she was too close with her father and so might reveal
information that he would be tempted to use against Larch.

Although relieved to see her sister well again, Holly's happiness does not last. With the arrival of Cherry the forest can no longer support any new additions and Lily is forced to inform her sister that she is no longer able to spawn. Holly takes this news very badly, flaring up immediately in anger and then sinking into low spirits. All of this pales into insignificance, however, when she catches sight of an unusual creature hiding in the bushes by the lake.
